An Odd Thought, Interconnected Saves

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 7:19 pm

I was thinking, it'd be pretty interesting to run into one of my other saves in Skyrim wandering around. Giving them life when I'm not holding the marionette. I suppose they wouldn't talk, and if they did it'd be a reference to you or some deed they (you) recently did.

They couldn't be recruited as followers, because that seems to be breaking the fourth wall in a way, and I doubt Bethesda endorses playing with yourself in any manner of the word. To make sure they don't die and ruin your story, they'd be like the officers a stormcloak/imperial camps, essential. Does anyone else think this would be a rare but enjoyable encounter?

I'd really like some other heroes in Skyrim, especially some of my own "minor" characters. There is a mod for PC gamers on the Nexus which adds different heroes with their own adventurer life btw.

Yeah, I'd like this. Me and my siblings all play Skyrim. It would be cool to run into my siblings' characters.

I'd like to see this implemented. You see the occasional mercenary, farmer or pilgrim wandering around and it gives you the sense that things other than your goal are going on, but it's not really enough I don't think.

I want to see a group of scavengers wandering around with their most recent score of gold, a caravan rolling by with passengers aboard (which I could call to stop if need be) and that NPC I saw in the tavern in Whiterun heading back home after a drink. Not to mention, as has been said, various heroes heading forward on a miraculous quest to earn honor and glory.

The idea of having interconnected saves might be a bit complicated, and what would happen if your character was attacked by a bear and killed? O.o

There was a mod for Oblivion where the author collected saves from the community and added the characters as NPC's into the game.

If there was other characters, I think it would be fun to duel people who are somewhat of a challenge.

He said that the Character would be essential. Now, on topic yes, I think that would be really cool. It would be a good way to see how far you've come too, say your level 81 character walks by you can attack and see how long you'd last. It'd be buggy, but really fun.

So you want to make Skyrim like Animal Crossing?

...Sure, why not. :P

Would be cool, I want the Dark Brotherhood to prosper, but I don't want my Dragonborn to be an db assassin, same thing with the thieves guild and other factions.
