Oghma Infinium fixed (xbox)?

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 10:43 pm

Oh I'm so sad... Has the glitch of being able to re-use the Oghma Infinium been fixed with the latest patch? I was a couple of dys shy of getting it, and I know my xbox got the latest patch.

Before work I tried today, but may have gotten the sequence wrong. I will try again after work. But if its fixed, its fixed - drat. I just want my enchanting up so I can dual enchant!

If you want to dual enchant you should work for it and enchant every piece of item u find in the wild like everybody does and not rely on a [censored]y exploit to max skills without doing anything ....but well...im being not nice right now...sorry about that ....but its not my call anyways shame on bethesda that did not fix it...... :nono:

Don't know if they fixed this with Oghma yet but.

If you go to Jail with the book and escape, then go back to Jail and serve your time you get two books. Some weird thing with the game saying "Quest Item" while also removing it doubling it. If you don't care for having a large lifetime bounty go ahead. Just don't murder people.

From what I've heard, you can still bookshelf glitch it but the timing is harder.

Hmmm i tried it and no luck - i do have the latest patch installed though....

And yeah basically, you are out of line. It's a single player game. I work full time, have a life, and if I want a shortcut to dual enchant, that is my business. I paid for the game, play it in the privacy of my own home - who is anyone to to tell me I can't play it the way I want.

For the record, I don't enjoy cheats all that much. PC users have consoles - they have the freedom to do a whole heck of a lot.... more than I can, that's for sure - I don't hear people decrying that all that much. Remember - it is only a game!

Enjoy it however you will.

You must have missed something. It still works.

Just ignore the control freaks. You aren't going to convince someone that has a deep seated need to make decisions for other people.

I don't get it, how is it considered being a control freak if you point out a bug/exploit that shouldn't exist? If you wanna use it by all means go for it, but get off your high horse in thinking that you aint doing something wrong. Using an exploit is still using an exploit, should just shut the [censored] up about it & just ignore these "control freaks" if your gonna get so whiney about it.

the only 'cheating' i see with this glitch is the player using it cheats themselves out of the full experience bethesda made for them. But to each his own, some people don't have the time, or patience to level up the old fashioned way, don't bash them for it! their missing out not you.

I used a little on my 1st character to 'regain' some perks I feel I wasted and then I used it extensively on my 2nd character because I didn't want to play another 50 hours to get a few perks I wanted. As I see it: it's far less of a 'cheat' than PC players being able to use all manners of mods to manipulate the world to a much greater extent that gaining a few levels.

After putting in 900+ hours on this game, I feel entitled to cheat. Glad to hear it still works, if I get around to playing Skyrim again any time soon I'll make sure to glitch my level on a new character, just because I can.

Well for the record, I finally got it. However, it's moot, as I had played a few more hours, and couldn't bring myself to let all the progress go to waste. It would have been nice, but I don't miss it, it's going to take a while to get those last few levels though!

Moments ago I just used the "Read it again" exploit on PC. I used the bookcase.

See my thread "Can I read the Oghma Infinium again?" for how to use the exploit.

I only used this when I REMAKE my main character. It took me 2 months to max out all my skills. I am NOT doing it again. So as long this little cheat stays, I am happy. If Not... OH you will be lucky that you wont be near me.

You could try actually playing the game to improve your skills, what a crazy thought.

Or.. another crazy thought... he could play the game the way he sees fit, and you could play the game the way you see fit!

While I'd never use it on my first play-through and rob myself of the experience of the game, by my third time through, I was happy to use it. After 2 legit playthroughs, it was fun to have a character that was quickly leveled to the point of my other characters were, without spending the 100+ hrs to get him there.

Exactly.

And my main point remains: if you're not gonna' complain about the PC mods/console commands then you need to remain silent about the Oghma Infinium glitch/hack/exploit for console gamers. I suspect the complainers keep quiet about PC mods because they'll get more flaming from those users than they get from Oghma Infinium users. <_<

After geting level 62 and becoming completely unkillable on master difficulty all by myself, i definitely felt like i earned the right for some extra stamina and to be awesome at archery and alchemy. I EXPLOITED THE OGHMA!!! IT WAS GREAT. I was VERY satisfied after i perked out my archery and alchemy tree. Made the game much more fun. Ill continue to use the exploit for as long as possible. I dont find it "fun" to just grind away on useless skills i dont even like just to benefit the skills i DO like.

I like how there's probably 5 topics on this within the first 2-3 pages of this forum.. but no one reads or knows how to search.
