Old World Blues, Mojave Location Access Point

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 1:36 am

To me, it was fairly obvious that we'd have to go to the Abandoned BoS Bunker for Dead Money, the Northern Passage for Honest Hearts and the Canyon Wreckage for Lonesome Road, but where do we go for Old World Blues?

At a guess, I'd say the Inaccessible Ant Burrow in El Dorado Dry Lake because Old World Blues is dealing with the mutated creatures of the Mojave. Failing that, I'd say an Inaccessible Manhole Cover in New Vegas.

Anyone else got any ideas about where it'll show up?

Well following the general thesis for theories.

Dead Money - Abandoned BoS bunker - East
Honest Hearts - Northern Passage - North
Old World Blues - ??? - South
Lonesome Road - Canyon Wreckage - West

My guess is at one of the drive-ins myself. Most likely the Mojave-Drive in.
Spoiler
Mainly because the satillite in the teaser landed in front of a drive-in screen.

A closed Train Turnnel(unmarked map) in near Mojave Drive-In.

A closed train tunnel is located almost due south of the Mojave Drive-in. The platform area has a single valuable lottery ticket on the ground in front of the maintenance door, though the door itself is boarded up and inaccessible. This is most likely to be the exit/entrance to the Big Empty for the upcoming add-on Old World Blues.

That is an inspired guess, but the other 3 locations are all actually locations you can fast travel to already. I don't see any reason why Old World Blues would break that trend. And yes, travelling to El Dorado Dry Lake is fine for accessing the Ant Burrow. That abandoned Train Tunnel is a small trek from the Mojave Drive-in, so whilst it's a brilliant suggestion, it breaks the trend of marked locations.

Still, I agree, it's the best idea yet.

How about the NCR Outpost? It's in the south, and even has an inaccessible gate.

Many choices:
Mojave Outpost- Locked (with a key) gate in the back of the roads. What is strange is that there are a few dilapidated houses beyond the gate, a perfect place for an ambush by your captors in OWB, that's my theory for the Mojave Outpost Access Point.
Mojave Drive-in- Satellite thing in the drive in, projector projecting on the obvious blank board in the screenshot video similar to the board in the drive-in. Who knows? Maybe that train tunnel will be an OWB acces point.
(The one that no one has pointed out, yes I came up with this idea myself) Crescent Canyon East or West- Strange location. Its in the South. It is irradiated. It contains irradiated barrels and geckos. Looks like an acces point, I just don't know how it looks like one.

Mojave Outpost will be Lonesome Road's entrance. Honest Hearts clues were at the unmarked irradiated roadbloack, but you accessed it with the northern passage. The clues for LR are at Canyon Wreckage but you will access it through Mojave Outpost. OWB I can't guess where it will be, but the bethesda blog info said it would be the easiest to access, so I think it will be on the regular map in the big empty white area west of Goodsprings, running north to Jacobstown.

There is a crater-type area with some car wreckage in the North-West of the Mojave map. Currently it cannot be passed and seems like a possible access point.

This. It looks like it can definitely lead to the Big Empty, since the route looks fairly hidden. But It could be anywhere in the South. Probably the Mojave Outpost's gate to the Outside of the Mojave will lead to the future DLC's locations.

Hey there, Enduring Protectron to give you more TRUEFAX predictions for the DLC. I have been 99.3 percent accurate 97 percent of the time! You do the math!

Your journey begins at the Mojave Drive In.

Many choices:
Mojave Outpost- Locked (with a key) gate in the back of the roads. What is strange is that there are a few dilapidated houses beyond the gate, a perfect place for an ambush by your captors in OWB, that's my theory for the Mojave Outpost Access Point.

That satellite is projecting the "ODYSSEUS" AI which runs the Big Mt. facility onto the drive in's screen. At this point you will be stunned and taken to the DLC area.
The train tunnel will be your way back to the Mojave after you complete it and your entry point to return to the DLC post completion.

And from what source are you so sure that the Outpost is for Lonesome Road?

Dont think he's sure.

Sure, the clues for HH were in a different place, but there were burned man clues at other places too I think.
Canyon wreckage is blocking a canyon, and Lonesome Road takes place in or around a canyon.
Also the wreckage plainly states "the lonesome road" as if saying "the lonesome road is past this wreckage".

The stuff saying "Go home courier" also implies that past that point is the lonesome road.
