No One Escapes Cidhna Mine question..potential spoiler

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 6:22 pm

After doing this quest for the third time something came up that somewhat ruined my RPG moment. I'm now confused.

So after doing the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:The_Forsworn_Conspiracy quest I then completed the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:No_One_Escapes_Cidhna_Mine Madanach has me completly puzzled.

I am a Stormcloak Nord who is a mage. Why would Madanach even come close to calling me a brother? and to include me with his forworn group? Sure we all need to stick together to escape however after speaking with him for the last time when we both walked up to the center of the mine to discuss the escape route he told me "It's time to meet your new brothers and sisters".... which indicates that I involunatry became a forsworn member?!?!??! I was even given a forsworn gear.

I expected Madanach to pass me some threating gesters, not to treat me as one of them.

Also another thing is why didn't the guards attack me? I was part of the escaped inmates. I even wore the gear that was given to me.

Yeah I know what you mean, when I first did the quest I had hoped to be friendly with the Forsworn but after you leave Markarth they're still hostile. Only Madanach's camp is friendly.

You're expecting something Beth does not do. EVERYONE needs to be able to do EVERYTHING no matter what. With that mindset logical events and consequences are often missing.

Lots of things wrong with that quest that still leaves me scratching my head. It feels very forced and not thoroughly worked out.

The Forsworn hate and I do mean hate the Nords with a fiery passion. Being a Nord and the King o Rags welcoming you into the ranks, just does not make sense. You can choose to not join him and kill him instead, but this makes it hard to escape, if you are not the magic type.

IF you choose to escape with the Forsworn, you get some crappy armor and are a part of the Forsworn, but nothing much changes. The guards seem to be the only ones not happy you helped the King of Rags escape.
Then the Forsworn still attack you out in the wilderness, aside from the camp, The King of Rags is located. You can kill him after you help him escape, but, honestly, no point in doing so.

The other thing that bothered me was the size of the mine, no wonder they have a hard time making their quota.
In my opinion, getting rid of the Silver Hand would have been far more interesting and rewarding in the long run.

meh. the second the quest ended and Madanach and his Forsworn chums were escaping, I walked up and put a blade in his back. I then proceeded to butcher the rest of the forsworn fugitives.

IF you choose to escape with the Forsworn, you [...] are a part of the Forsworn,
What? I don't recall anything saying such. Madanach's comment that you should "Beware the Forsworn" when you escape seems to contradict any notion of you being part of the Forsworn.

Agree. I feel like it started okay (when they throw you into the mine) but after that, it's too rushed or something. I also think there could have been more development that highlights your choice of either killing your way out or aiding Madanach.

How could he possibly know if you were a Stormcloak mage? There is no way to tell him, so he just assumes that you are just a prisoner.
