(About the Forsworn Conspiracy)

This is an odd quest.
I submitted to the guards in the previous quest and went to the mine. I've been following Madanachs orders until I got my stuff back. Now, I want to destroy the Forsworn and have wanted to do so since the beginning. When Madanach was last to leave the ruins to Markarth, I took my bow and shot him in the back. I went to Markarth and Forsworn were hostile to my but not the guards. I killed the Forsworn but then the guards arrested me for conspiring with the Forsworn. What the hell? Madanach just said that my name has been cleared. On a positive note I apparently got both quest rewards, the old god armor and silver blood ring.

I got a save at the start of the quest, should I just go and kill Madanach as the first thing I do? I dislike the Forsworn and as a Nord I want to put an end to their nonsense (though I'm not exactly fond of the Silver Bloods either).

My Nord female assassin elected to let Madanach live. Now I have a large clan of Forsworn living in Druadach Redoubt which I have visited for a couple of unrelated quests and was able to talk briefly to some of them including Madanach himself in a friendly manner. I was able to take some stuff from chests without being challenged. Any other Forsworn elsewhere, I'll kill because they are hostile. I don't know why Madanach, their king has not told all Forsworn that I am an ally to the king. I guess he is not the all-powerful king he thinks he is.

Do you still have your save before you do No One Escape Cidhna Mine? Preferably, before the end of Forsworn Conspiracy when you go to meet the quest giver. If you kill any of the guards during the time in the Shrine, ALL the guards in Markarth become bugged. I've tested and tried that. If you do not resist at all, the next time you commit the crime, a guard will react normally. If you resist, however, after you escape Cidhna Mine, the next time you commit a crime, a guard will react like your case. This is the root problem. Load an old save to fix this.

And if you hate the Forsworn, as I do. There's one more thing you can do to destroy the Forsworn and Madanach without actually getting a bounty. You might want to try a save before you talk to Madanach for the first time. You can choose the last option: 'Let's start with revenge!' and Madanach will attack you. You'll know what to do then. Be warned. Madanach is tough, especially on Master. With just a shiv as your weapon, you need a good healing spell like Close Wound at least, or a good summon, like Frost ATronach, or a big magicka pool for a barrage of Destruction spells, to last. You won't have to kill Madanach outside the prison. You won't have a bounty, and you can do it legitly in the game.
