I'm thinking about starting a new Warrior and trying to deiced what weapon to use. Is there any benefit to using a one-hand weapon without a shield?

Dual Wielding, casting spells in the offhand, carrying a torch. If you have not played a walking Buzzsaw yet, you are missing one of the greatest playstyles in the game.
