One of the most epic fights I have ever had

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 1:25 am

Today I was playing on my Redguard, Atticus. He's a Sword n' Board that also utilizes Archery and Sneak. Today I was traversing through the Rift on my quest to answer the calls of the Greybeards. On my journey, I come across a hostile fort filled with hostile bandits (Faldar's Tooth). Accepting the challenge, I start charging through the fort cleaving through the moderately difficult bandits. After I finish them, I go to the top of the main tower to deal with the Bandit Chief. Upon seeing him, I notice that he has a Dwarven Warhammer enchanted with Lightning, meaning he can negate my armor. Cautiously, I overwrite my previous save. The following fight was one of the hardest I've ever had in Skyrim, let alone with a bandit. I must've fought him for atleast 20 minutes. One power attack from him would instantly kill me, as he would always follow it up with a finisher, and his regular swings depleted about 2/5ths of my health. Just when I was about to give up, I decided to change up my tactics. I would conserve my stamina only for power bashes to deflect his attacks, and I would work at his health with quick, light swings. The battle was very close, we were both nearly dead, and both able to perform a finisher, fortunately I was the swifter. I quickly stabbed him in the chest, as he looked down at the blade, I ripped it out, spun around 360 degrees, and slashed him in the face. He then fell of the tower and landed on the lower level. After collecting my reward from the treasure chest, I went down to claim my fallen foe's weapon as a trophy, since he was truly a worthy opponent. He also had a full set of Steel Plate Armor, which I will be able to make use of in a few levels. Upon unmasking him, I find out that he his a fellow Redguard (greatest warriors in Tamriel), an old and experienced warrior. It was then that I truly felt proud of myself, and I developed a genuine sense of respect for this man. I think tommorow morning I will take his body and depart it to the river.

Tell me what you think about my story. If you've had any similar epic battles during your adventures in Skyrim, feel free to share them!

Sounds epic

I had my most epic fight today. I played as my new main, a breton witchhunter. I walked into lost knife hideout and battled all the bandits there, i walked through the tunnels till i reached the pit, killed the orc sitting near the table with an arrow and then walked into the room, immediately got attacked by all the bandits, killed most off them but got to 20% health when there was 2 left, so i released the sabercat there, bad idea. It attacked and killed the bandits but then attacked me so i healed myself but it still got me down to 10% hp so i ran into a cage and closed it. I thought i was safe but the sabercat opened the cage and jumped at me luckily i fired a firebolt before the sabercat reached me and i survived.

Congatulations for sure. I've had a lot of fights like that - maybe because I'm not as 'swift of mind' as others. But yeah - it feels good when you're able to finally kill that mf. :)

Exactly.

Some of my best battles have been with my 2H warrior against sword and board warriors.

Great story, OP! That just inspired me to make a Redguard character, and it reminds me of why I love this community. :tes: Can you show us your build?

I've had a couple of good fights like that, but none that lasted twenty minutes. Bravo.

I skillfully broke into a house and heroically stuck my two handed deadric blade threw a ghastly old womans evil chest , upon hearing this commotion her husband woke up and maliciously attacked me with no provocation on my part whatsoever  so I paralyzed him to let him cool down while in the mean time I humbly sat down at his table and had a few drinks , got back up and then casually started resurrecting his wife in front of him , when he regained control of his body he attacked me again , then miraculously his wife jumped in to defend me and started attacking him and , he must have forgot to put the toilet seat down ( again  ).

Then he called her a cold dead heartless monster while looking at me for some reason ... I dunno  anyway he starts wailing on his wife too saying sorry over and over again but its clear he didnt mean it because he kept hitting her... which makes it odd that he was crying during  The domestic abuse making me feel a bit uncomfortable I became ethereal so no one could see me , it wasn't my finest hour but I was embarrassed , I then realized he was about to be killed by his wife's reanimated body , it has come to boiling point now , I had to step in and kill her in front of him and then she turned to dust , he was on all fours and was saying " please please "

I naturally assuming this to be a promiscuous invitation to oral relations , flew into a panic and punched him which appeared kill him , guess that was really his "final blow" after all  I being appalled at this sixual advance forced upon me decided to Resurrect him and parade him around town as an example to anyone who thinks forcing six on me is ok , he was so embarrassed that he turned into a pile of ash , haha what a day !

Thats my heroic battle  I found where ageing lived and killed it , replaced a mans wife , stepped in and solved a domestic dispute , and I survived a sixual assault and made an example of a pervert , yep ... I'm a real hero

Haha, yup, same here. Rivers are where the bandits usually end up.

Flowers on the body and their weapon laid by their side are for fallen comrades.

Yeah but then they are just going to get looted and wild animals will eat their corpse. I leave random bandits to rot and people I hate get shoved down a saw mill.

Seriously, I've had my share of hard won fights, some of which lasted for what seemed to be forever (probably no more than ten minutes, but time changes on ya.) Best fight ever was running into an Elder Dragon in the wilds, in the middle of which two saber cats decided to help the S.O.B. No sooner had I turned my attention to the cats (dragon grounded temporarily by Dragonrend,) than a giant and mammoth tag team joined us. So, everybody's mad at good old Dovahkiin, guess it looked like a good time for all, and a friggin' Ancient Dragon popped into the mix. Sheesh! Used up all my potions, depleted my nifty magic sword a few times, ran around like an idiot trying to kill ANYthing just to feel better about myself. Long story short, everything died but the Ancient Dragon. *!)#@+~!!!

I decided not to dump my own body in a river, though, and kept that bit of dignity "for later."
