One thing I would like in Skyrim

Post » Sun Jul 22, 2012 9:56 am

I think it would be a great DLC or something if they could put more monsters into the game. I would like a decently sized area that doesn't have to have many quests associated with it, but an area full of cool new monsters to fight. Maybe some monsters that fly besides the dragons (I don't mean hover, I want them to fly around and make the battles more interesting). If Bethesda didn't want to make a whole new area I will completely understand, but I feel like they should at least add more monsters. I wouldn't mind paying 10 or 20 dollars for a DLC like that.

Yeah in Oblivion you would come accross all kinds of monsters, not just the occasional wolf pack. (If you havent you need to play Oblivion and The Shivering Isles )

I agree that Skyrim needs more Variety in Monsters, I however would NOT pay $10-$20, maybe $5. Now if it was a smaller part of a large DLC than I may pay more.

I meant I would pay that much if they added the new area. Yeah, if they just added monsters for like 20 bucks it would kinda be a rip off

Yes I agree, I loved the variety in Oblivion and really wish a lot of those monsters would make its return.

It would be nice to see Daedra that weren't Atronachs or Dremora.

I'd like to see a bunch of new monsters, particularly high end ones, added to the levelled tables so you can encounter them anywhere not just a new area. I think the game is crying out for new armour and monsters but I think the artists over at Beth are having a hard time coming up with stuff.

I thought it was neat how they added different steel armor than just the one, then I noticed that was the only time they did that and cried. If they could just add different looks for the armor already in the game, I would be happy.

I remember one of the first posts I saw when I joined up a year ago just after the game was announced was something along the lines of "Its stupid how we just run into Minotaur's every other step, we need less monsters!"

that was in a thread full of people agreeing with him :L

......This saddens me, I hate the low amount of monsters in the game. I feel as though I go exploring and all I ever see is wolves, saber cats, and bandits. With the foresworn if you're in that area of course.

Not really feeling the need for more monsters, but would like to be able to do more with them.....for example:

1. I'd like to summon Ohdaving to come and pick me up for fast travel
2. I'd like to be able to cast a spell on a bear or Saber cat and ride them into battle
3. I'd like to summon any animal I killed and trapped their soul as one of my followers
4. i'd like to have one as a pet that guarded my house

I think they should make a return of all the monsters that were in older games that were removed. Close to the Morrowind border they could add Alits, Netches, Guars, Cliff Racers and whatnot.
Close to the High Rock and Hammerfell border they could add Centaurs, Dragonlings, Wereboars, Gargoyles, Harpies and all those other ones that Daggerfall had.
The Cyrodiil border could be littered with Minotaurs, Ogres, Mountain Lions, Imps and Goblins.
The sea could be filled with Lamias, Krakens, Sea Serpents and Dreughs.

Also, more variety to Daedra and Undead. Where are my Hungers, Golden Saints, Daedroths, Liches, Bonewalkers and Ancestor Ghosts?

Why not?

I would like them to add very hard creatures in an expansion for high leveled players, because once you get high leveled there really is no challenge.

I would still agree with him. There is no need to have to fight a monster every 20 steps, especially the same variety of monsters. In Skyrim, nobody is complaining about how often they are fighting monsters, Its the diversity of monsters to fight that is an issue with some.

But in my opinion, there is plenty of enemies to fight off.... Its the hundreds of hours we put into this game that brings the repetition.

There is assortments of dragons, bears, wolves, trolls, and sabre cats, spiders, spriggans, wisps, atronachs, skeevers/mudcrabs, giants/mammoths, and now werewolves in the wild. In forts/caves/dungeons, there's bandits, forsworn, falmer, draugr, skeletons, falmer, dragon priests, dwarven spiders/centurions/spheres, hagravens, and vampires. So the variety is there, but when coupled with the hundreds of hours of gameplay, it dwindles down the excitement of encounters.

I think creatures need more variety in how they attack and defend. Have some animals jump and run much faster, and block, or have special magic to counter your attacks.... Generally, most of the enemies just run at you, and/or stand there and use distant attacks.

We need more unique monsters, a la Shadow of the Colossus. But not hordes of minotaurs, dreugh, ogres, etc. That would get old, fast.
