One thing you miss from Obvilion or Morrowind...

The favorites wheel in Oblivion. So much quicker to change spells. This list thing has got to go.

The Dunmer voice actor and siltstriders\boats from Morrowind. Although the last two wouldn't fit into Skyrim.

Oh, and Mage guild travel.

the core rpg attributes, having more armor slots, needing actual tools for making potions and not a stupid table, and all around i miss the game being more a challenge

there are many more but ide be here all day

also op please change the name from one thing its nearly impossible to pick just one.

I miss NPC dispositions. I play as an Argonian, and it would make sense for the Nords to not like my character. Instead everyone of them starts happily talking to me when I just pass by. At least in Oblivion I saw mean faces and "Get away from me!"

And in a similar vein, I miss that your character's face would change if they were near someone they liked or hated...a smile for a friend or a sneer for someone they didn't like.

I suppose for me, it`s the overall feeling of being in a truly in a different, uncompromising world that dropped you in and left you to learn and understand it`s strange ways and peoples, plus the myriad of real options and choices you had.

Morrowind felt like a person`s real dream of an alternate world, unfettered by the need to dumb things down to suit the Player.

In Oblivion, I liked how every city had a fighter's guild or a mage's guild and they mostly interacted with each other. They'd send you to another city to help out the guild there with some task.

In Skyrim, the Companions are only in Whiterun and the Mage's College is only in Winterhold. If you do some favor for another city, usually you're sent to a dungeon in the area, not the city, and don't even have to check in with the city that you're helping.

Yes, there is a civil war going on in Skyrim, but I'd prefer that the guilds didn't just feel like a collection of radiant quests.

I also miss the faster horses from Oblivion. In Skyrim, I feel like my character is just as fast without them, and I don't have to worry about dismounting and getting back on in between encounters with hostiles.

...and the quest journal in Skyrim svcks. Without quest markers, I'd have no idea where I'm supposed to go or what I'm supposed to do. It feels too much like quests were built around having quest markers and fast travel.

There are many good posts in this thread. It's too bad Bethesda removed these features just to cut development time. People actually liked the features that were removed, which means that they shouldn't have been removed in the first place, just to have mods put them back in.

Daggerfall - the gargantuan, sprawling dungeons.

Morrowind - The variety of weapons, armour, factions, customisation, hand placed loot.

Oblivion - weapon degredation, none of this kill cam bullcrap, (seriously, toggle option ffs!) short blades! fricken short blades were cut!! what did short blades ever do?!? Oblivions horses were also better... atleast they could sprint for longer than 10 meters.
