One time it was helpful.......

I am sure most here are familiar with the annoying habit of NPCs following you through transitions if they are talking to you, such as the annoying guard commenting on your magic when you are entering your home and pop he is now inside your private quarters finishing his annoying speech. Well for once this habit turned out to be a bonus instead of just an annoyance.

Here was the set up.....Radiant quest to retrieve an item for enchantment from someone in Solitude, who just so happens to be a sailor of the docked ship down below. The issue was everytime you enter the ship to talk to the sailor all you get is, "You shouldn't be here!!" Quest broken, full stop, nothing you can do about it....well not quite nothing. I had left this quest for awhile annoyed and fed up after trying a few times. So on my last trip back I pop in and low and behold the sailor is in the room next to the outside door, and an Idea strikes...talk to her and quickly turn around and activate the door....pop she is now outside with me and happily gives me the necklace to take back for enchanting...quest complete. So I have just found for me the ONE time the annoying habit of NPCs following you to talk was helpful.
