Online arena battles?

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 3:39 am

Like you could take one of your characters and battle someone else in an arena you could also make bets and watch other people battle. Pretty much just like the arena in oblivion but online against real people. You could edit options such as disable magic or shouts or stuff like that. Is this a good or bad idea. Personally I think it would be pretty epic. If there's already a topic about this sorry I didn't see it.

While the idea does not really appeal to me, it seem's really unlikely this would happen.

Considering that balance is not a consideration in TES then bad, it just wouldn't work. You'd have people going around OHKOing and others ticking away slowly at your armour like a drunken mudcrab. It's pretty much possible to become immune to nearly all damage as well so I just don't see it working.

This wouldn't work, people with crafting abuse would just always win.

I don't see it working, plus it'd take to much effort for it to be put into a Singleplayer game.

What would be awesome , is if you can invite your friend 's character into "your" game that you host , just for fun , not for for competitive stuffs or battles , but just for hanging around with a friend in Skyrim .... like a companion but a human one ...

But yeah , a competitive arena combat mode would svck because of the various ways you can exploit the game

Not that kind of multiplayer.

I wouldn't mind simply being able to explore one world with a buddy or a few, but even that would be pushing it for TES. Time spent developing multiplayer is time not spent on single player.

what would be even better would be to have a friend take the place of my companion so we could play co op. fallout and TES co op, yeah, that's what i want.

Essentially the only multiplayer aspect TES fans don't have a problem with (for the most part) is an arena. But as posted above, that wouldn't work, especially since I have gotten my sword to do 226 damage per hit without cheating, just using the options that the game gives me, and not even really trying to do that. With master level enchanting, you can make it so your spells cost nothing to cast. Ever see a Redguard in full Daedric Armor (armor rating of just over 500) dual wielding Wall of Flames with no magicka cost? Anyways, co-op wouldn't work either, and I'm tired of explaining it. Simplest terms, multiplayer turns 300 hour single player into 30 hour multiplayer. It no work.
