If only I had a "Ring of Hircine," but for Vampires

I don't know how I missed this, but I love how you figure that if people just stop talking about Twilight, it will go away like it's not this giant inexplicable, and consequently inescapable, pop-culture phenomenon. It's not like Beetlejuice where it only exists if you say its name three times.

And vampires are only overpowered if you have a character tailored to their strengths. I only use it for my sneak thieves because they benefit greatly from the Illusion and Sneak increases. I wouldn't use it on my berserker unless I was looking for an easy way to frustrate myself. And werewolves aren't useless, you just can't Leeroy into a group of Bandit Marauders or Cave Bears like you've a death wish. You have to use a measure of strategy, which is awesome because it makes the notion of the hunt more realistic.
I would agree with what you said if they gave werewolves a sneak option because then you could make a strategy when you start fighting a group of enemies. But instead Bethesda gave us werewolves that are only meant to plow through enemies, which I wouldn't mind if werewolves had some good defense, but they don't and I can get killed in two hits sometimes.

I think a lot of people know that he [censored] Lamae Beolfag, and then she died and came back as the first vampire.

Unless I made an ultra stealthy vamp who was a nocturnal B-adass

i did that, twas a good time :)

on topic a ring that fixed the horrid feeding mechanism would be great. i have an above mentioned vamp character but its not my main, i can only play it when im in the right mindset :)

I get where you're coming from, in that werewolves seem like tanks with fur to most people at first glance, but I kind of like their fragility. It prevents the game from being too broken/easy in some aspects. You can easily charge into a group of weaker enemies and take them out if you keep your wits about you and know when to retreat, and if they're humans then you can feed and keep your strength up. But yeah, if you just decide to transform in the middle of town or something and do more than attack a straggling guard, you're likely to become a pincushion before too long. ._.

I think they should be stronger as we level because at lower levels they are fine, almost too overpowered. I would have liked a sneak mode too.

Sneaking makes sense for Werewolves. Wolves don't just run around barking and hope to catch some food. They hunt in packs, and sneak up on their prey. So why can't I?

Exactly, REL_Dovahkin has the right idea as to why werewolves should be able to sneak. Not to mention werewolves have been able to sneak in every other Elder Scrolls game they have been in. But I think what Bethesda wanted to do is make werewolves for warrior characters, and vampires for mages and assassins/thiefs.

Skyrim's Werewolves couldn't sneak, they are 10 feet tall and about 6 wide at the shoulders. What is the big guy going to way in at?
Go try running through some woods when you are that size and see how many branches you snap.
Breathing will be very loud and heavy, easily heard and probably felt when it gets close enough although probably too late by then.
And the smell, oh boy the smell.
People can smell Polar bears over a mile away, your big dog won't be much better. Especially when it's raining.

Pinky's post is pretty much the same thing I was thinking. While werewolves do possess guile and intelligence, stalking the shadows quietly isn't their deal. They throw their lumbering form around and make snap decisions as to what to do and when to rip the marrow from their prey's bones. They don't have a need to hide because they're animals and people who don't immediately see one just figure it's another animal that isn't going to literally tear their head off.

I guess you guys have a point, but they could still sneak in Daggerfall and Bloodmoon, so it made no sense to me that they took that out in Skyrim.

That I do agree makes no sense. I wish they added some more depth to werewolves myself. The totems are cool, but if the moons effected them and such or something like that, that'd be sick.

Yeah, that is my main issue lack of normal werewolf abilities in both human and beast form, like we should have forced transformations on full moons, the ability to see in the dark, enhanced strength and speed in human form.

Interestingly enough, there is a console code for werewolves' night eye, but it was oddly left out of the final product. But yeah, more human form abilities would be nice. Mostly boost to Unarmed because why not. I understand not overloading the typical humanoid player character with broken things when the werewolfin' is what's important, but it'd be nice to be thrown a bone that doesn't smell like wet dog and ear fur.

I heard about them having a code for night eye but they removed it for whatever reason, I also heard they had a code for werewolves that transform on the full moon but again they took them out. In human form I would really just like the night eye ability because I don't know how they would make our speed and strength increase when we have no attributes.
