Opinions on my Sneak Archer Character

Post » Thu Jun 14, 2012 7:15 pm

First of Sorry for the LOOOOONG post

Ello I am using an assasin/theif/ mostly archer build and have some Questions and opinions, but first some history of the char.

In the very begining i was very weak having trouble killing anything w/o sneak and poison.
But, once i used the two followers for their training plus my own hard work, I got my bow skill up to around 70ish at a relitively low level ( cant really remember but 20-30 zone) and through the use of that skill, and by obtainining anchient brotherhood armor and other enchanted goodies I soon became extremely powerfull one shoting things left and right yet as I worked on other skills and levled up he got slightly weaker over time.

I am basically looking for any general advice along with an answer to these:
-since my bow skill is maxed out, will i eventually out level my effectiveness? or will armour and enchants keep me up to par
- and on a related note i was thinking of power leveling up smith and enchant how much to you think the level ups will hurt my abillity to kill?
- also does anyone else love the 100 arch perk and the lower stagger perk? i think they can make it totally OP if used right and combined with ( either individually or together ) ice form shout , serpent stone power , and a bow with paralisys

skills and other info below:: (stats include item bonuses wich will be listed later)

Try smithing and enchanting, they will boost your damage a lot. And it looks a little weird your sneak is lower than archery for an assassin..

In my opinion, assassins don't need armor perks, just repeat to sneak attack and move. Exploded, run.

I loved the assassin/archer type character. Always been one of my favourites. Only issue is that bows become too overpowered and its so so easy to one-shot enemies.

True. So usually I play assassin/archer in master difficulty, warriors in adept and destruction mages in apprentice.

I just play on Expert difficulty, period. And just use one trade skill, for an assasin/archer, it has to be Alchemy only.

You can make your bow a one shot dealer of death, or merely strong or just something to soften enemies up from a distance. It is all in Perks and Skills. You don't need to improve the best bow in the game to the best level for it be effective in the game. It's your choice how strong it becomes. An Improved Elven Bow with a damage enchantment on it can be quite effective to a skilled archer.

As for crafting skills leveling your enemies too much, sounds like your at mid levels right now. Once your character is in the high 20's to low 30's, you are going to see just about everything in the game already. And, they will be at near or max level. Only a few new enemies show up as you get up to level 50, and they can be dealt with if you use the right tactics.

I think I've only taken 3/5 perks in Archery & 1/5 in sneak. Makes it feel more balanced to me.
