Orcish Craftsmanship...

Post » Wed Jul 18, 2012 7:29 pm

Some Orcs, when I talk to them praise their craftsmanship. Why then I rarely ( if not ever ) see them in their own armors? Few minutes ago I went into a Fort filled with Orc hunters. None of them was wearing it. Blasted them into Oblivion with few shots...

I dunno but it kills the immersion for me when I'm the only person in game, that actually wears something else apart from iron and leather.

why would a hunter, not just Orc be wearing heavy armor? you go try hunting deer and elk in a full set of armor weilding an orcish battle axe IRL and we can talk again... dunno what fantasy world you live in but here in the land of nod, hunters need to be light on their feet, short sword/dagger and bow. light fur or leather armor.

It was just an example. Show me an Orc in their native armor. And not all were hunters, sorry for misleading info.

Because Orcish armor is still expensive, some of the strongholds have people or sets of the armor around. But it is absurd that at low levels Orcs smiths don't have Orcish armor around.

too lazy to look up pic, sure a few of them in the strongholds are wearing it...also its heavy armor, the only reason they would be wearing it is to go kick ass... also many of the Orcs you run into...most anyhow, have forsaken tradition.Im sure if you made your way to Orsinium you would find plenty in more traditional wear..not only armor but clothing, jewelry etc... i could argue the same for Dunmer, Khajiit, Bosmer, imperial etc... very few wear what is tradionally theirs.. we have to put this down to either an oversight by the devs or they merely following the "when in rome " theme.

Is there a mod that can actually change that? Maybe give some other NPC's different armours.

When you talk with Mjoll she says about traveling all around Tamriel, yet she wears Iron Armor... Dwemer maybe?

I've never fought any Orcs that wear Orcish armor, most of them all wear light armor. Kinda disappointing imo.

I've fought a metric ton of guys who wear full plate which is basically the same thing.

usually find a mix up of different sets.. like an orc will have orcish boots but iron cuirass. Or an Orcish helm with plate boots etc.. on topic of racial sets of armor... i would kill for a set of "her hands" or bonemold for my Dunmer :(

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/19733 apparently gives a variety of armors and it sounds like NPC's will utilize it as well. I've been considering using it myself.

You're in luck. We should see Indoril and Bonemold on Nexus in not so distant future.

Really? Is there a thread about it or something and if so could you tell me where? I would love to have that mod
