Orisnium

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 11:51 am

Can we please have Orisnium in the future as an expansion or something? I've always thought the Orcs were a neglected race.

Think about it

*Orsinium is way too small to be its own game.
*Half of High Rock is in the game, untextured but still in the game.
*The conflict between Orcs and Redguards/Bretons would make a great story and my Orc skirmisher would love to split some Breton skulls.
*Todd Howard always said he would love to redo High Rock and this would be a great chance.
* The Elder Scrolls 5: Orsinium, that just sounds badass

Its always a possibility, but im now trying to figure out what features that are going into these DLC/Expansions. Features are what they are going to mainly focus on.

Well if the Human VS. Orc was a major part of the dlc then obviously Bethesda would want to improve large scale battles. I could see the Orc Strongholds banding together to reclaim Orsinium and armies of thousands (maybe around 45-60 in game terms) of Orsimer.

I dream of battling alongside my orc brothers, dual wielding axes and watching Breton blue blood splatter on my armor :celebration:

I need a moment.....

I too share such dreams Orc brother, it is indeed time that our race got some love from Bethesda.

The funny thing was that I was a Breton mage in my first play-through, I was a disgusting little fairy! :flamethrower:

I started playing my Orc after realizing how much of a tragic history they had and much of a proud people they still were. I no longer cast pathetic fire from my hands and only use magic to heal commrades!

ORCS FTW

PS: call us an elf race and we will rip your intestine out

Daggerfall II?

Not really, my idea was only to encompass Orsinium and eastern High Rock/Northern Hammerfall. Daggerfall 2 would also be stupid by the fact that Daggerfall would likely not even be in the area around Orsinium.

I agree 1000%. Hey, I learned math from orcs. The place is spelled Orsinium though.

Seriously though, Orcs and Dunmer are the only PC races without a home currently, and Dunmer had their day in the sun. Exploring orcish culture would go a long way toward adding that "stranger in a strange land" feel we haven't really had since Morrowind.

He was just saying that Orsinium was in Daggerfall. And how Orsinium passed to Orcs was post Arena, Daggerfall as well. While I doubt we go to where we've been to before, an updated Orsinium would be cool. Worm mounts FTW.

It'd be interesting to see how they'd redesign Daggerfall's Orc architecture with updated graphics.
New smithing perk: can create castles at forges, and improve them twice as much!

It sounds like a good idea.

But when has Todd said that he'd like to redo High Rock? .. Did a quick Google-search
and wound up empty handed.

Only thing I remember similar was when he was talking about how it would be cool to redo the city of Daggerfall. Something about how it was supposed to be on a huge bluff overlooking the sea.

Sounds like a good idea and make's sense for DLC as someone pointed out it wouldnt be large enough for it's own game and considering the location to Skyrim makes sense really :) but in all honesty what i would like from a DLC is, apart from a nice new location to explore, a decent amount of new item's, well written main quest/side quest's and hopefully some decent new monster's etc which i hope are not simple re-skin's but most likely will be. Ah well only time will tell.

I've been saying this for awhile but I think that Orsinium would be the perfect place for a DLC. It's new and exotic, there is plenty of room for conflict, and we get to explore a relatively unseen race.

Yup, a new province! It's too small to warrant an entire game and...

It's in High Rock so the fight is obvious. You can either help the Bretons or the Orcs resolve a dispute and whatever side you pick, you get some followers to accompany you around the Orsinium land and a nice position in that faction that allows you to do some radiant stuff. What I really want however is the DLC to affect Skyrim somehow beyond bringing some of the weaponry to Skyrim.

For example: The plot revolves around the Bretons trying to get retribution against an Orc attack on one of their outposts where innocent civilians died, which the Orcs did because the Bretons took their land. If you help the Orcs, they send some troops to Skyrim at the Dragonborn's request and you can start a small quest chain in Skyrim. Same for the Breton side as well.

And another feature they should add is more marriage options both in Skyrim and outside of Skyrim. Obviously, if this took place in Orsinium, probably about 3 or 4 marriage options per side? Breton and Orc? Both races only have like one person to marry in the base game so that's perfect.

I would love this dlc.The orc strongholds are seriously lacking and it would be good to be able to unite them for a quest.
Heres what I want.
A questline where you have to help the orcs defend the settlement of Orsinium from the combined forces of the Iiac bay who see the threat it posed in the past and seek to destroy it before it is too late.Since most nations are weakend this time the orcs stand a chance. To begin the questline you have to talk to and help an orc who is trying to unite all(minus the cursed) orc strongholds of skyrim.Once you do you set off for Orsinium. Orsinium is a very large(by skyrim standards) city of orcs .
Thecharacter asking how a makeshift setttlement can withstand the combined forces of the Iiac bay considering it fell in the past. The Response being"The great war left hammerfel severely weakend and most of the lords are unwilling to offer support, high rock being the only one to wish to take out Orsinium".Considering they have time before the troops reach Orsinium they wish to have aid from either the Empire or the Thalmor or the stormcloaks to aid with aquiring weaponry, economically, and giving political support. The player has a choice between the two. If you approach general tallius he will say he will help on the conditions that they help in the future war with the Thalmor.Approuch Ulfric Stormcloak and says he will not help due to his recourses are considerably strained but will offer advice"Never fear if your revolution fails if someone is there to pick it up latter".
If you approach the Thalmor they aggree to help under the conditions that they will be called on to help them should war ever brake out.
So your choice is either the empire or the Thalmor and ulfric if they find it pheasable .
What you have to do next is enlist the Deadric lord Malacath. You pray to him at his altar in Orsinium who statue is the only permanent structure in Orsinium and to no avail do you hear from him.
You then have to raid a breton armory and attack forts that are on traditional Orsinium soil to enforce their claim. You also have to raid Breton farms and close off the southern mountain pass(they will phease it in) to avoid getting attacked by the redgaurds should they want to interveen. The anti orc troops begin marching onto Orsinium soil and begin masacaring any civilians they find. The civilians and soldiers gather within the multi layered wooden fortress of orsinium. There is more then they estimated. They estimated that the force they are fighting against is impossible to stand against. But they have faith that malacath will save them. Each part of the fortress from the outer walls to the keep is different areas and you can only hold each one for a short period of time before being over run. When you are pushed to the keep where the shrine of Malacath is . The high priest prays to malacath saying "We have fought for malacath so we die by malacath. At the last moment when the Bretons breach the last gate. A flame rushes accross the city which turns the Bretons to ash . The voice Malacath rushes across as load as possible"CHILDREN YOU ARE FREE".
The war is over and Orsinium stands free. The player is now the adviser to the chief.
You get to choose how you want to build up orsinium through a raven rock style buildup.
You choose how you want to build the keep. Wheither to build the buildings through a traditional orcish style culture or modern orcish culture. To put enfesis on economic or military.
You have achivied in granting an eternal(if they dont get their asses kicked again) homeland for the orc people.
