Oscape no longer works?

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 2:58 am

I went to generate my land LOD for todays beta release of my current WIP, and I cannot get Oscape to work. It crashes when I click 'Fill'. I tried repeatedly with both the 32 and 64 bit versions.

Is this just me, or does it need to be updated to work with the latest Skyrim files?

Thanks,
AJV

I havent tried but it would be another droplet added by bethesda to the modder' patience vase... That so far is quite full atm ... If they keep breack mods without care and fix I think most of us will just give up with this incredibly difficult to mod game...

Oscape isn't a Bethesda program, so they have no obligation to ensure it works with their updates. Its on the creators of the program to ensure their program works with the CK updates.

I have just tried to run Oscape and seem to work for me:

I had an .esp dated 10 June(I loaded an old version of my WIP for the problem with invisible armor).
It does'n ever see the broken update of yesterday.
Loaded and saved few minutes ago with CK 1.6.89 updated today.

Generated only meshes and tried in game. All OK.

I hope to help with this.

Hmm, what version of Oscape are you using? Mine just may be super out of date.

The LOD features appear to be fixed in CK .89. Why don't you give it a try?

Couldn't agree more, all I do is find/fix bugs. For example yesterday I've recovered my mod just to find out that today I have to do it all over again because they decided to roll back ck version.

I know it sounds like conspiracy, but the fact they break fundamental things like worldspaces and LOD seems to me that they do not want us to do "competition" DLC against them.

Sorry, my error: the version I use is the 2.0 beta 6 and that was what I found on skyrim nexus.

P.S. v3.1.0.0 is what I see if click -->right button -->Properties -->Detail. Nothing new

I had this problem a while ago and the only way I could fix it, was to delete the Oscape registry entries.

From the start menu, click on run and type regedit. For 64bit operating systems, expand the field HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Bethesda Softworks\

For a 32bit OS, expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Bethesda Softworks\

When you expand Bethesda Softworks, you will see an Oscape folder. Right click on it and select delete. Close Regedit. When you start Oscape, remember to set Skyrim as the game first, as all settings will be at default.

Thank you, I was just wondering how complicated resetting Oscape could've been.... =)

That's the same thing I'm running. :(

Tried that and it didn't work... :/

EDIT: Awww crap. I just tried checking other files instead of mine and it works... meaning something in my esm got corrupted or something. Even other versions (like all the funky stuff from .91) of my mod dont crash Oscape. :(

Double Edit: The ESP version of my mod doesn't crash it, so that's odd... Regardless it appears I can generate with that, so problem solved. :)
