The Alchemist's Shack, & Drelas Cottage have always been enough extra housing for me. Not to mention you get room, & board in the Thieves Guild cistern, Kodlak's old room at Jorrvaskr, the Arch-mages quarters at the college, & the restored Dawnstar Sanctuary is practically like the Dovahkiin having his own private bat-cave.
You used to be able to keep stuff in the bedside table, but I think the most recent patch changed that. So yeah, I guess I'm squatting. I do know that sometimes when you drop ingredients on the floor, they duplicate. I still love the place though. And I keep all my valuable junk in the secret back room of the Riverwood tavern.
I like the garden too, alchemical gardens are a plus.
I think my favorite think about Falkreath, is that when a dragon attacks people actually go inside. Everywhere else they hang around, & get toasted while they watch me, & the guard fight the thing. Falkreath has good heraldry as well. I like the deer.
Nords alright, you can't help but feel sorry for 'em. There're three or four, but the one where you're investigating missing folk, is likely my favorite. To avoid spoilers if you've not, & for anyone else who posts here I'll not say more.
Fingers crossed that they do add more stuff in the future. KOTN was a cool place to stay in Oblivion and I spent hours downloading mods on my Fallout3. The west side of the map really needs some housing additions.
I never did get to use the wizard's tower- I hear it was awesome.
Oh yeah, if they do add any houses they definitely need to be in the West. Two thirds of the actual housing are on the east side, & all of the faction housing is in the east.
If they put any more houses in, I would like one somewhere in the wilderness. A good place for vampires, werewolves, & wanted criminals to live.
Aside from one or two odd places. There are not enough places for starting characters. Yes, you have all the city homes and the Arch Mages quarters, but some of them, you need to be half way through the game to even get into.
They need a good Lair for a starting Vampire character. As well as safe storage places for anyone in general. There are not enough.
I agree, on my first play through it took me ages to even afford the house in white run. And if your a level 4 vampire, you can't enter a city, therefor your house, without being attacked.

That is true, but I prefer playing a Stage 4 Vamp 100% of the time. Thus the need for a secluded estate or even a cave, for crying out loud. However it is possible, but tricky, and calls for a good bit of strategy to live as a Stage 4.
I know, but it would be good. If you wasnt bothered by going to a city and just needed a place to store your things. They need to improve vampires to be honest, werewolves seem to be the most focused on
