Out of mana but i can keep on casting

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 3:59 am

Hey guys.

Just a quick question. I am able to continue casting some spells when my mana bar is empty. Like casting sparks, mana or healing. For example, when bar is empty my fire spell stops, but when i click the cast button again as soon as it stopted it continues, even if the bar is empty. This is a bug i presume?

It's called Magicka... :shakehead:

Also, this is general discussion, not the software issues section

Read my queation proper before you try to be funny. And i don't know if it is a software issue if i havent asked about magic first. Do i? But specially for you i will add some more info.
For the very first time i am playing a mage, i have played a warrior since Dagerfall. Now.. It seems i can cast a fire spell, or heal spell forever. I see my mana deplete but i keep on casting. Is this normal? Im just level three or so. Is the use of a fire spell at this level so little that regaining mana is as fast as the spell cost in mana?

No that's not normal. Sounds like a magicka bug. Maybe it's not registering when some spells don't have enough magicka. Look through some of the bugs for this game and see if anything there is similar.

And he wasn't being funny..... mana is for just about every other game series. TES is SO F'N special it gets it's own name for magic.

Themute88: i didnt knew that. I apologize to you raminus. So its a bug then. A damn handy one, i keep on spamming flames on targets.but i do feel cheap though... Know i think of it, on my other character, a warrior nord i did had the same.. There was a moment I kept healing myself, even when the magicka bar was empty.

Ok not mana... and mana is also not a spell you can cast. On that note. Are you running out of magicka then casting a spell like sparks/healing and it only lasting a few seconds? Those spells only need a very small amount of magicka so if your magicka started to refill at all they would cast. Or is it letting you cast them for as long as you want? That would be a glitch.

If its the constant cast spells (Flames, Frostbite, and Sparks) then it takes a small amount to cast like Noxious said but if you drain your magicka by using flames and then wait a second you will have enough magicka to start another flow of flames. If you magicka bar is completly drained and your flow never stops - THEN you have a bug.

Really lame, he makes a simple little error that EVERYBODY knows what hes talking about mana or magicka, and half the thread is about this trivial error in wording.

Don't feel too bad. This may make you really powerful compared to level 3 enemies, but as you level up this won't have nearly as much impact on your enemies. Enjoy it while you can.
