Outcasts are really out-of-place

Post » Thu Jun 21, 2012 7:13 am

Seriously, the entire Outcast idea is ridiculous. They don't even make any sense. They don't belong to Skyrim. The quests about them are sheer stupidity. I wonder, why they were placed in game?

Do you mean Forsworn?

I didn't think it was too bad, it was one of the better quests in the game and I hope a DLC follows up on it.

outcasts? are you sure this belongs in the Skyrim forum? unless you're talking about the forsworn, in which case, their backstory makes perfect sense.

Those are in FO, not Skyrim.
Unless you mean the Forsworn...
Forsworn Conspiracy was one of the better quests in the game,
and like JagarTharn I hope DLC will expand on them.

Outcasts or whatever are painted bretons camping outside Marcart. Care to elaborate about 'backstory making perfect sense'? They are not and cannot belong to Skyrim, and their concept is unfeasible.

They've always been in Skyrim. As far back as Talos' time at least. They were the Witchmen of the Reach that he fought. Or the Reachmen. Now the Forsworn.

edit: Basically, the reach is western Skyrim and borders on Breton territory. It'd be natural to expect any kind of population of Bretons here.

The Forsworn or are the original inhabitants of the area, or at least were there before the Nords. They have a different culture and religious believe then Nords, and are actually closer to Bretons in term of race (though their culture is completely different).

It makes sense because that's simply the history of the area, and because it's fun to see. They fight for their independence the same way the Stormcloacks do, but of course Ulfric and the Empire heavily disagree with the forsworn. The reason why they are so active now is because some 20 years ago or so they had a good chance and took over Markath. They lost it again later, but it has revitalized their campaign so to speak.

They are Forsworn, not outcasts, and they are in no way, shape or form infeasible.
They were humans who inhabited Markath after finding the Dwarves had abandoned it, the Nords native to Skyrim drove them out of Markath and are now occupying it. The "Native American" equivelant of Skyrim if you want to get superficial.
They aren't the same as the ones in Fallout if thats what you think.

Weelp, considering you seem to know so much about the Forsworn, I'm sure that statement is legitimate. Nah but really, read a in-game book or two.

Quite correct. The Outcast and their power armor and plasma rifles do not belong in Skyrim.

This entire thread is as silly as the recent one over in C,H & S where the OP claimed Orcs and Dark Elves should all be evil and living underground and in caves because thats what they were like in Lord Of the Rings.

Forsworn are part of the lore. The only thing I don't like is their swimsuit armor... It's even more ridiculous than the two piece fur armor worn by some female bandits in snowy areas!

Btw, the reach itself is a wonderful region that posses a rough and savage beauty
