OWB's area = Area 51?

Area 51, you think it is? I think it is, hence why it may be called the big empty, because it was nuked? or is just big and empty?

i don't think so i have read somewhere the devs told there was going to be a area 51 in NV, but meh i don't care what they call it as long as there is PA's and Advanced PA or new PA's in it :)

ps i'm going to be pissed if there is no some sort of crazy new tech Armour in the DLC that is suposed to be full of new tech :sadvaultboy:

No need to get assy.

But check a map of army bases in nevada. see if there's a army training area or a prison facility. You will see, that area 51 could be there.

Clearly the all knowing cave rat told him this. It even taught No-Bark that spell that could make that teddy bear show its true form.

Edit to Bar: Except it isnt. The Devs already confirmed Area 51 WILL NOT be in New Vegas.

As others have said, the developers have already pointed out that Area 51 won't be in New Vegas. If you need more recent proof https://twitter.com/#!/ChrisAvellone/status/64041460865052672 I can only imagine how he reacted to Mothership Zeta.

FYI, Big Empty is unlike Area 51.

A Pre-War military operation, the Big Mt. Training Facility has remained secure ever since the Great War, its scientific secrets and treasures undisturbed, protected by robotic guardians.
Adventurers attempting to brave the perils of the facility must brave an assault course run by mechanical judges and training officers. Another threat to watch out for is the "Moletown" on the outskirts, where a crazy survivalist has trapped all the houses and dug a network of tunnels beneath the town, ready to kill anything that strays too near.

Chill out guys...

Dev Confirmation: No Area 51

Spelling Confirmation: Original name: Big Mt. Training Facility. Over time the name got distorted and turned into Big Empty. (Mt. -> Empty)

Honestly, i don't think the U.S. government appreciates when a super-secret military facility is depicted worldwide in a video game. Don't think i'm not bummed too, but it's just the way it is.

The Communist Chinese bombarded the living hell of of the nations capital (D.C.), you could walk through the ruins of the white house as well. I think the military base is just a little bit close to nothing compared to an radioactive capital, don't you agree?

a little bit, yes. But the White house is a lot less exclusive. There have been tours of the White House before, and many important people have visited. On the other hand, no one not affiliated with serious government projects are allowed to come close to the HEAVILY-GUARDED perimeter. Anyone who comes too close to the entrance is immediately shot i believe.

Area 51 has been depicted in movies and video games alike, I doubt they really care because it's usually just depicted as an average military base with underground bunkers and labs. I don't think it's every been accurately depicted in any video game or movie...

I could be wrong though, I've never see Area 51 for myself. lol

Think about it, remember the Area 51 arcade games? Area 51 was also in Perfect Dark and GTA: San Andreas, and the movie Independence Day

It isn't actually big and empty. Just derived from Big Mountain, when abbreviated is Big Mt.. M+T=Empty.
