Paarthurnax Quest (Spolier)

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 4:52 pm

I'm on the console, and have completed the civil war quest line. When I head to the throat of the world to kill paarthurnax it won;t let me. Why can't I kill him? And why is it no longer in my journal? How do I work around this? Thanks!

There is a point at which the quest can no longer be done. I don't know what that point is, as i personally will never kill him.

You may have to speak to the Greybeards first before you can kill it. Only after you got the request by the Blades to kill him do you also need to talk to them or he will stay immortal.

You should be able to kill him still.

I've completed everything I possibly can in this game (almost 700 hours now) and I've still got the option to go kill him if I choose to. It's in my journal.

I just chose to keep him alive.

I won't kill Paarthurnax. Ever.

The guy actually worked to turn his nature from Evil to Good, and still fights the urges of his very nature every day. He helps you achieve power you never would have had otherwise, and even fights by your side against his own brother.

i won't kill Paarthurnax. Not for that arrogant, [censored] who calls herself a Blade, but doesn't even have the sense of honor that even the lowest Blade recruit would have. And don't get me started on Esbern... the guy is great with the lore category, but I've never seen anyone more ignorant.

Me and Paarthurnax; frustrating and pissing off the Blades since 4E 251. That's Quality.

When do you work your nature from Evil to Good?

It took Paarthurnax centuries.

And I believe that a proper quote of my post is: "The guy actually worked to turn his nature from Evil to Good."

It takes millennia of meditation to turn from evil to good.
It only takes a lie to make a fool believe it.

You don't need to talk to the Greybeards, he should be able to kill Paarthurnax after speaking with Delphine.

I had to. I was not able to kill Paarthurnax even after the Blades asked me to. I had to speak with the Greybeards first.

I am guessing it could be linked to the dialogue of Alduin's appearance on the mountain and only after you have returned to the Greybeards to tell them about it will Paarthurnax become mortal.
