Just wondering, it says on the wiki that when they like you, you don't have to pay to rehire them. Mercurio for example, has anyone got to the point that they can rehire for nothing?

To be honest, I never felt that paying 500 gold for a follower was worth it when I could get a more complex one for free. Sorry, but I can't help on this one.

He is pretty insane though, I usually use eola. Mages complement my warrior very well and marcurio seems to be the strongest using adept level destro spells. I have a good 8000 at the moment so 500 isn't much, I was just wondering.

@ Bobjim123 - J'Zarr (College of Winterhold Khajiit) is the best destruction mage.

Anyway, if you are an elf (maybe Dunmer specific), then Jenassa is rehirable for free I heard

Yeah I've had him on a previous character, you have to advance in the college questline to get him though. He wears heavy armor well, making him an excellent choice for me. I suppose I could do a few quests for the college.

I'm considering getting the mage involved in the azura's star quest, she seems good.
