Patch Refinement

Ok now theres alot of demands going around about fixing the glitches/bugs etc
I think we're all expecting that patch sometime in the foreseeable future.

I would like to discuss the possibility of a patch that fixes some of the more refined problems. I think we would all LOVE better inventory organiztion. Whenever I open a crate that's full of my various collections it can be frustrating trying to pick through a massive inventory. There should be tabs that open a select category of items - so when you open an inventory there would be a GENERAL (Everything) / WEAPON / ARMOR / AID / MISC. IT would make it MUCH easier.

The crafting menus need to be refined as well. There just needs to be more space so that everything is more clear. When I open up a crafting type menu theres just a wall of numbers and texts, again it can be tedious picking through the long lists. Or better yet make it a seperate render like a gambling table. I was really excitied about the crafting options in this game but It just doesn't feel right - there's too much text and menus. Maybe have a List and then a way to go through each recipe/schematic to look at everything envolved with the item about to be crafted. Even better would be to have its own graphics. Like you go to a survival campfire and you actually look at a 3d fire with ingredients laying around it etc. Or a reloading bench where it's a 3d reloading bench (kinda like a blackjack table or something) and you can see animations that go along with the crafting. Would be really sweet. I really want to push making it actual rendering because that would just add so much more immersion.

Clipping. There's an excessive ammount of clipping in this game, I was especially dissappointed with the black ranger armor (I spent a great deal of time figuring out how to even get one) only to find that it breaks immersion because there's a rifle butt sticking through the clothes.

"Hard" clothes. I'm sure there's a better term for this but I hope ya'll will understand. Ok if you look at the back of Metal armor or Reinfoced Metal armor you'll notice that the "plate" of metal across your back looks solid. Now put on something like the NCR Ranger Patrol armor and the back part wiggles with the rest of your body. There's more examples of that.

There ARE tabs to select a category of items. See the right and left arrows/triangle things above the inventory? Click them.

Look at the objects name (or person's name if it's a merchant/companion). There should be an arrow on either side, click these and you'll flip through the various item tabs. :)

Some of the issues you mention are glitches and may be dealt with in future patches but I don't see them refining or upgrading something that isn't broken in a patch. At the moment there are just too many game-breaking issues that some people experience to consider something like this.

People falling into the landscape is unfortunately a "feature" of this game engine, did no-one play FO3 and find that half of the named Megaton residents had fallen through the landscape into the void by halfway through the game? It certainly happened to me. I doubt that will be fixable tbh, but it's certainly better than FO3 where you went to turn in a quest and the guy wasn't there and using the console to find them took you to a void outside of the worldspace with several folorn NPCs standing around in the greyness!

While I think it's a brilliant game, one thing I would like to see fixed is that there are too many rocks which are "caspered" - badly placed, so that from some angles you can see through the underneath of them or into the hollow inside - that's just sloppy placement and lack of attention to detail. However I can live with it, it's not game-breaking.

I would like to see some common sense issues fixed, mostly dealing with the game's karma issues.

1. Being penalized by "stealing" from trash cans; when something is in a trash can, it should be fair game no matter where you are.

2. After killing [insert favorite baddie here], you are still penalized for "stealing" from said dead dude.

I'd like sub-categories in the inventory. Take Aid for example, I'd like to be able to further sort by, say, books, drinks, food, magazines etc. Misc is where this would be most beneficial IMO especially with the increased amount of crafting items in the game.

Edit: to take this even further (maybe even a low level perk) sort Misc by favourite/selected recipes.

Wow, after playing almost 200 hours between Fallout 3 and F:NV I never knew that...

Some rocks that you think you can climb that you can't is annoying, especially since you can scale down a vertical wall with ease. Also invisible rocks and buses, where you accidently walk into them and then you become stuck inside them.....

I absolutely agree with you with this one... it's just a sign of laziness that these artificial barriers are put up. If you don't want the player to go somewhere, put a pile of something in the way or increase the slopes of the mountains.
