Patch timeline

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 4:16 am

I have posted my OPINION about it http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1133386-there-will-be-no-patch/. Forum moderator locked thread within seconds, calling it STATEMENT that I should not be making (I have clearly explained that this is my opinion based on experience). Reading more then the title of post should be expected from moderator. Another thread was also locked while somebody tried to defend game complexity, where moderator made STATEMENT that "Bethesda is working on fixes" (without giving any sources of this).
So here is my reach to community: what is your OPINION on that topic. My is the last choice.

IMPORTANT: I'd like to make it clear that question is "when game will be patched REASONABLY". There will be multiple patches, like the one already distributed that did not seem to patch anything. We are talking about patch that will make this game playable on the same level as e.g. Fallout 3.

Well it's going to be a huge patch, judging by the amount of bugs, so I'm guessing at least another week.

They really should prioritise fixing the big one first though, so people stop losing thier save files.

I'm 100% sure a patch will come out, but i doubt it will be within the next few days, maybe when the DLC comes out in December, then again why should they worry about a few thousand people suffering when they have made millions of dollars in sales anyway, then your get the sales from the DLC at 1200msp and they would of made a tidy profit off the back of the fallout name, just put buying this game down to a bad purchase and never forget Obsidian games when they release a new title.

i have said in other threads that i think it will come out around Christmas time. Obviously there is a lot of minor and major bugs to patch up so that will take some time.

I figure another couple of weeks for the truly game-breaking issues.

They are too close to Christmas to wait on fixing these issues.

Hahahahaha more people voted on never? But i think its kind of funny how the moderators are tired of us bagging on bethesda every day. But hey, we would be praysing them to the high heavens if it wasn't for these game breaking bugs :)

I voted a month. With the ever-increasing amount of bugs found, I highly doubt one large patch will cut it. Possibly one or two fairly large patches to deem this game playable as it should have been. Add a minimum of one-two weeks for Microsoft's certification process per patch, and it could easily be longer than that. I've decided to forget about my warranty, and hold onto the game.

Just please don't let me down Bethseda/Obsidian. Forget about your 'exclusive' DLC. Concentrate on the matter in hand.

OK, so those who have voted 2 weeks and 1 month were proven to be wrong. What's left is 3 months (end of January) or never (end of the universe as we know it). Anybody wants to reconsider his vote? Or add to poll?

Following my original assumption (fix is impossible given the scale of bugginess) I have finished game both on normal and hardcoe mode. It is still immensely enjoyable. Shame that such great concept have been wasted in execution.

I could forgive them for the game being buggy, that is to be expected with the sheer scope of this game(although it is VERY buggy)but they have taken far to long to fix it, and we have been given very little information. It just seems very armature to me. :unsure2:

You should have added the official and precise time line increments given by GStaff;

"In the forthcoming weeks"

"Soon"

"When it's ready, we'll let you know"

It would be much nicer to vote on these detailed options.

Another option should be:

Not needed. Failout NV already traded in for something else.

When a moderator closes a thread at under 200 posts, except by request of the OP, you really have to ask before starting another. When you have been expressly told why your thread was closed, you don't then get to complain about it on the open forums. That's against the rules. If you have an issue with how this forum is run, PM an admin.

To answer your question on when the patch is coming - well, it would happen a lot faster if people didn't keep clogging this forum with threads like this, which push legitimate bug reports further down, making it harder for the devs to see it and work on a fix. The admins - who are Bethesda staff - have posted multiple times on the forum to explain that a patch is coming, as have the developers.

Yep, what she said, and there is more information found in the already open threads, like this one:
