Pathing - Follower wont exit (modded) door. Uses vanilla doo

Post » Thu Jun 21, 2012 2:00 am

Hope someone can give me some tips.

Ive made a door that exits halfway up a 3 story house. I created a platform for the exit. The problem is while I can exit the door and stand on the platform my follower insists on appearing at another exit (ground floor door exit -vanilla). vanilla exit is below the platform.
Both doors go from interior into windhelm worldspace.

It doesnt appear that the follower is teleporting to correct door exit location and then just falling through the platform to the ground floor door. Its more like they are teleporting to the wrong door exit.

Ive set the platform as ground in inheritable navmesh permissions.

make sure your navmesh is properly finalized, or else the navmesh info wont be able to let the NPC know the teleporter marker even exists

thanks for the reply :)

unfortunately I'm still having problems.

I've finalised the navmesh on both exterior and interior cells. (is there something else I am supposed to do aside from press cover edges and the finalise button before I save?)

I've also checked the pathing and their seems to be no problems.(green line etc)

this is driving me crazy and is preventing me from release as I know il get complaints that followers can't get to the platform.

any other tips/suggestions ? (even something minor I may have forgotten )

Make sure the door marker is sitting on a valid triangle. If it's not, the door won't be of any use to NPCs.

thanks for the reply.

just checked and the door markers are bang on the triangles. (the green teleport one)

would the fact I'm using a non conventional object as my platform have any effect? in this case I'm using a book shelf increased in scale and a bowl also vastly increased in scale.

Im suspecting my problem may be nav mesh bug related.

As an experiement I ESMified the mod using wyre smash. and hey presto my follower used the door correctly !

unfortunatly ESMiflying caused its own problems
- problems(flashing on/off etc) with the interior lighting of the buidling (vanilla lighting which i did not touch).
- and also some furniture placement issues. (furniture i had moved reverting to its original vanilla placement)

oh well  (i may just have to wait for the nav mesh bug to be fixed before the door works as intended for followers)
