I cannot and will not tolerate the complete and utter silence from Bethesda and the devs
concerning this issue with the constantly bugged quests / quest-lines which in some
cases prevents you from achieving goals.

There has been no dev-post with any type of acknowledgement about this, and no
reply to any threads started by players that are both annoyed and aggravated by this
unwanted feature that exploring brings.

Some of us players has over 100-200 hours spent in our game and the quests
keeps racking up that are bugged and unable to be completed.

I myself has stopped playing Skyrim due to the fact that i have a number of quests
currently unable to complete because i tried to explore the open world and payed
for it by having several bugged dungeons / areas where the quest-goal is unavailable
even after 30+ days ingame-time which is suppose to re-spawn areas to an extent.

'tis sad that you had to release Skyrim in it's beta-phase because it had such potential.

Beth-staff really don't post direct replies to the forums here. It is not like some games that have the management or designers directly in contact with the fanbase/consumers.
That really isn't what these forums are about, sorry you wasted your breath (type).

Bethesda has already made it known at least on other sites that they are going to be patching and balancing Skyrim for the long haul. So its just a matter of time til alot of this is fixed up.

Me i've been having plenty of fun doing alot of random exploring and have yet to be bothered by anything or suffer any crashes which were caused by an unstable pc system that needed rebooting after being on for at lest 18 hours with plenty of multitasking in the background.

The only problems i've had are FPS drops in the thieves guild and random crashing, but that's obviously due to my CPU overheating..

I don't see where people are getting all these bugs from, i'm not saying they aren't there, they probably are, but i haven't encountered any yet.. which is surprising giving bethesda previous line of games.

The only reason i can think of that is relating to you having such BAD issues is because you're doing something you shouldn't be, or messing around with the console and expecting the game to be fine after that..

So far do I have 91 quests completed with 310 misc objectives completed. 319 locations discovered, 149 locations cleared.

There are two quest entries, both in misc., that I cannot finish, because they seem to be bugged. Nothing of any importance and I probably might be able to fix it with a command on the text console. The UESP Wiki will likely have some info about these. It is just some minor issue I cannot be bothered with as there are so many other quests still to do.

I would never get the idea to make demands towards a game maker. I would ask and see if I can get help from them. If not then there is no point of making a fuss, really.

I hope you can get around your issues with the game. Until then will I play some music for you: :violin:

As far as I can see, OP's issue is that he/she cleaned out quest dungeons by randomly exploring them.

Apart from Shout words, I don't recall being able to not finish a quest because I found an item in a dungeon...it was generally "Oh, is the the ???? you are after?"

However, the very first two reasonable quests of the game would highlight the potential quest impact of searching randomly.

In before lock.

Anyway...yeah these forums are a place where only open revolt can get something done, bro. Sparse threads that sound exactly the same, about things that are obviously being worked on, are pretty moot.

That said, it seems like forums have become more a place to gripe than discuss anymore. So, uh, care to discuss in a constructive manner...your plight?

Free exploration is a common approach to TES games for many gamers, that Bethesda didn't account for it is just shortsightedness... actually, they seemed to take a "free-explore safe" approach previously. Why did they suddenly forget it?

So, your mad your game is bugged. Check. You're also mad that people have asked for answers and haven't gotten any. Check. So, then you make a thread demanding answers for questions that were asked and unanswered before. What makes your thread any different than any if the other threads? What makes you think you are going to get answers? And, what's the definition of "insanity"?

That right there tells me you haven't seen a game's beta phase :)

Sure Skyrim could've used a month or two for adding more features and another two for bug testing, but what is there is by no means a beta release.

I've got some bugged quests. Urak wants the book Brothers of Darkness. It's in my inventory and can't be dropped, but the pointer leads to an empty chest in Steepfall Cave. Another quest to investigate the Bard's College, the pointer leads to Viarmo and he won't stop using his torch or acknowledge the quest. Other misc quests say to return to some people, and I've got loot inventory that can't be dropped for being quest items. Three charm staffs, a named staff, etc. There is also an escort quest that won't clear because I killed the person who was meant to lead me into an ambush.

My game still makes random items become invisible when taking other items off of a table. Since 1.4 there are more blurry textures than before.

I noticed the latest patch fixed a lot of bugs because I started a new playthrough and some of the problems I had had with quests before were gone.

There are still some bugs in the game, but Bethesda is still updating the game so I'm sure they will be fixed eventually.
Some of the ones I still have problems with are the glowing nirnroots (which grow brighter and brighter over time), an NPC named Louis Letrush who multiplies outside of Whiterun (I have three of Letrushes now), the "Collect bounty from Skald" quests which does not close when completed, the Legend of Red Eagle quest which accidentally restarts when touching the book a second time, and a few other minor things.

Oh look, it's this thread again (god I love saying that)

But in all seriousness, most of us here have played 100+ hours and have not had so many issues as you've described, so obviously you're not doing it right.

Oh, and also, inb4 this thread gets locked.

Most of the bugs in quests happen when people complete stuff not in a certain order or in "creative ways".

I know this sounds like a lame excuse but I've come to this realization when, during my third time through the game, I followed all the advices from the official strategy guide and I never stumbled into a serious bug having completed roughly 80% of the game.

That just turns Skyrim into Tomb Raider with swords, a linear adventure game... not an open world RPG. How can Skyrim have an open world if you need to stick to the predestined path?

There is no point making these types of threads.

YOU KNOW:

- They have a team devoted purely to working on bugs.
- They are not stupid and are aware of the games problems.
- It's a new game and should be prepared for things not to always work properly.
- The dev's don't need to waste their time replying to these threads because you are just out for attention, nothing more.
- They announce changes ad fixes in patch notes, they cannot fix everything at once.

So please stop wasting forum space with this dribble demanding answers because it solves nothing, things will get fixed when they are fixed so be patient and enjoy the awesome game.

Yes, it does. It's not exactly an open game if you have to complete things in certain order to not break them. Though i've never followed any order and apart from minor glitches, usually not even quest related, nothing has broken  The Way of the Voice was seriously bugged for me though, i had to use console commands to continue, but that has been fixed now too.

I agree with you. Most of the fun in Skyrim came from exploring the vast and diverse land but with Risen 2 comining in one month and a half, I don't think I'll look back again unless some juicy expansions come out and, in the meantime, Bethesda fixes the several issues still plaguing the game.

I've had a few minor bugs, nothing too serious except for getting sent to fetch a certain item again and again and never getting made thane of a few shacks on the edge of a cliff.
