the first time i played this game through when i got to nipton there were 2 people shooting at each other in front of it.. when one is dead the other tells me something about a lucky necless or somthing he had that the other one wanted .. one of the options is to kill him and take it... well im playing a not so good character this time and planed to take it.. problem... they arnt there... i dont know there names.. all i know is they should be outside nipton fighting...and they arnt..

good chance they killed each other as you got there. Look for their bodies.

i have i havent found them.. bout to look again.. but i canteven find anything about them on the wiki? its weird

It's a random encounter (yes) that occurs only if you start collecting Star caps and have met Marcus Graves (or wtvr his name is)

Ummm if I recall there was a lady and a guy and I think the lady kills the guy to get his necklace of sunset sasaraparilla stars caps and when u look at his dead body theres a ledger and it makes her attack u if u confront her with it. And that happened to me 1 play through they were in Nipton in another they werent so Im assuming they appear somewhere else. And I havent found this alternative spot yet. :confused:

It hasen't happened like this for me yet

They're allways to the west of Nipton on the hill.
Their A.I makes them go from the gates along the road and often into the wastes heading for the race track / ant farm.

When you approach the place it's usually hard to spot them if one critically hits the other early.

My advice avoid the raiders and scorpions and try to flank nipton from the north, as you'll hear gunshots and won't be caught up in combat yourself.

Otherwise one is likely to be killed by the other, then get eaten by a scorpion.

It isn't scripted which one wins. The girl can or the guy can. I've seen both.

Ideally the chick wins, because I have no qualms with filling her full of bullets for those caps, whereas I feel bad when I backstab the innocent guy. Need those bottlecaps, man! Or I'll never finish the quest!
