People trying to kill me

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 11:16 am

Ok I killed the old witch in the shack. I've had thugs try and kill me then the DB now the Thalmor. Does that end it or can I count on more people? IF so how do I stop it?

I don't know how to make them stop.

I'd have bounty hunters come after me. Hell I've had a lot of people after me. I kinda want to be hunted down, so I start [censored] for no reason.

I could understand being hunted down like this if I had murdered a few people but this woman was alone and the letters said I was a theif all I did was take a few alchemy ingedients. If she is dead how is she sending people after me?

Her sister is still alive and is a powerful Witch, and a Hircine Worshipper.

Its random encounters based upon previous actions and I don't think they stop.

I doubt she's sending Thalmor Justicars after you. You've probably pissed them off in the MQ.

As I recall, thugs stop coming after you when you murder death kill the first wave.

And I've never had DB after me, I assume you refused to join them in that cabin. Or you killed a character who's relative puts a contract on you.

Thalmor never stop coming when you've angered them.

Don't know how to solve your hired thug problem, I'd suggest re-loading an earlier save if the problem is overtly persistent.

I'm not sure if the DB ever stops coming.

Man, I've had more DB assassins after me than I've had hot meals.

This kind of thing happens because you upset someone, somehow. I don't think you'll be able to stop it.

Just kill the hired thugs, there only a few of them. I had them chase me but I killed them, haven't seen them since.

I have had lots of assasins try and kill me. I doubt they will stop (I am not too bothered as they are not a problem)

I also took a book from a woman who was dead, but she still managed to send some thugs after me. That was only once though and I will be able to deal with more if the have a go.

I always see these as being a good way of earning money from looting their bodies

I believe it is random encounters hence she has no tie or connection to many people...

Especially thugs.

I had the Thalmor come after me twice, but encountered them many times while they were escorting a prisoner without attacking me. The DB sends an assassin after you if you have stolen something, but I believe it goes down or it may even have got a limit to it. For me did it stop after 2-3 attacks. I have currently no one coming after me, but it can all be because of the various quests that I have been through, too.

How to stop it ... you could just try to stay at home.

For the Thalmor, maybe it's because they told you to go away and you hung around.

After you steel something, there is a chance after a while they will send someone after you, even if you are unnoticed during the theft. It's only supposed to happen once though. AFter the main quest, the Thalmor attack you on sight, but they are pretty rare.

I made the mistake of killing her in the first playthrough, but I don't do it anymore. Gee those hirelings and mercs are tough at low level.

If you trigger them very early in the game they're a low enough level for fury to work on them - you just mop up the wounded survivor. They tend to have a pretty good haul for a low level player to cash in on - I find they have at least 100 gold each, decent armour and usually at least one enchanted weapon.

Hasn't been the case for me, playing at master difficulty. They can kill me with two or three hits. I tend to run in to cities, so I can get some help, and this has worked so far.

Does anyone know what actions result in the DarkBrotherhoodAssassins hunting you down?
I see one every now and then, but there has been times when I have encountered more than a few in a day of travelling.
