And the weapon, really, Everyone else has in the standard Bulpdaun.

Isn't the spec ops one pretty cool though?

I got the Spec Ops one, and was mildly disappointed that the Hockler MP was VERY much like the Belgo. I find them useful if I'm playing a light character and using a sniper on a large map, so I've got a backup that can spray at someone that sneaks up on me.
I like the hood and body tattoo.

Srsly though, did you expect the exclusive guns to be something that much better than all the other guns or something? Foolishness I say. Now if you can get the option to dual-wield Hocklers. . .

All the "exclusive" guns are just guns we have, reskinned.

the Hockler IS the Belgo, the Doom Bulpdaun is... Well... A bulpdaun... And I forget the other crap. I think the only items that were DIFFERENT were clothing and the Green-eye scope. I wish I had the green-eye. :(

What does the Green-Eye Scope look like? I mean while on the gun and while looking through it?

Green eye gives a sort of zoom like a COGA scope, but you get to keep your peripheral vision, that's why it's so 'popular'.

On the gun it looks like a small cylinder just on top, as if you'd put a modern-day laser sight on top of your gun, but with no laser feature whatsoever (just describing the looks)

Like this. [img]http://images.wikia.com/brink/images/2/21/Greeneye_Scope.png[/img]

I dont really fancy it that much. I do like the Hockler, even if I dont use it that often, I would have much preferred the Caesar Revolver. I was looking to see if you can buy the code separately, you cant.

Lots of people who bought this game didn't pre-order, so SD may have wanted to give them a chance to give them it.

That, or they're just guaranteeing a source of income from people who really want the Hockler and Caesar, like me! :hubbahubba:

See, what they truly mean is, "Way to piss people off by making them pay for a game early while paying a little extra more for basically locked on disk content, that is to be released later for the lulz."

I are happeh that they released the original DLCs. Now yeah, I can understand why the people who pre-ordered don't like it. However, a lot of us didn't pre-order. I'm personally one of those that it's way easier for me to get a hold of a game a month or two after it comes out (due to price drop) and I just do not like pre-ordering a game unless I know it is going to be absolutely amazing. Besides, for the people that want em that couldn't get em but now can buy them, and that Beth/SD will be making money off of the packs, it's a win-win-lose situation (the lose being the people that preordered and are complaining about "individuality". special and unique [and similar terms] are overused lol)

Long story short, I think it was a good move for Beth/SD.

Is OP serious? The Greeneye scope is the [censored], there's NO reason to even touch a COGA scope ever again once you get it.

EDIT: Most the stuff is just extra aesthetic options anyway, and considering that the customisation was the main selling point for more me then I have no issues. I also pre-ordered for SpecOps, and couldn't give less of a [censored] that anybody can buy it now. Anybody who's having a [censored] & a moan about this stuff getting released (for PURCHASE) needs to svck it up and get over it, it's the way the modern industry works from what I've seen.

I REALLY hate to be "that guy," but can SOMEONE please correct the title here?! It's been bugging me every time I see it and I just can't ignore it! It should be, "People who DON'T have...-". PLEASE! D:

ON-TOPIC: I still maintain that ALL the DLC stuff is pretty damn lame outside of the green-eye. I wasn't impressed in the least with my "special" bulpdaun in the Doom Pack... They could have AT LEAST reskinned and renamed it.

It is re-skinned, it's just not that different.

I like it though, I have a fully DOOM-ed out character atm because DOOM was ace.

It isn't re-skinned. It's simply got a different color palette.

Would've made it better if you had a Space Marine helmet to go with the body armor shirt.

Still, I prefer my 'Vault Security' character. Even if I'm being seen from long ways away due to my bright blue vault attire, it makes up for it in that I look ready to kill either a Resistance fighter, or a dirty mutie!

And textures (The carbon fibre appearance, addition of UAC logo - removal of standard Bulpdaun text, in the R Version it has a full re-colour with added cacodemon image), hence: Re-skinned.
There will be a new, full file for a new skin with different colours and textures, which is a new skin.

That isn't what is commonly known as a "re-skin." They typically have different models and all. That is still just a different palette.

I'm not seriously starting an argument here, but there is a distinct difference between a Re-Skin and a Re-Model.

As I'm sure you know (so feel free to skim-read), 3D things in a game are made from polygons or a 3D mesh type. This makes up a model, the polygons quite obviously define the shape. What is then laid over that is a 'Skin' that gives the model colours and flat textures (because some textures can be put into the model phase, but that means more polygons which makes them more memory-hungry). So, in order to make the physical appearance different - which, dont get me wrong, I would've liked too - that would mean changing the polygons and therefore the model, changing the 'colour palette' is a Re-Skin.

This is a decent example.

Now, sure, that's for the PC version of COD, but the idea is the same.
The first two images, of the AK47.
Both have the same model, of an AK47
One has the skin it's supposed to, the other has a custom made skin.

I quoted mine to prove a point, that is "commonly known as" is the key point. I'm not talking in terms of technicality, in which you are right. I'm talking about in terms of the colloquialism - what most people use the term as.
That's all I was getting at. Can we drop it now..? I'm not in the mood to compare the size of our dikes today.

Being that I have made my living doing 3-D surface and solid modeling for the last 20 years I would like to say it's a Re-Skin. Sorry loofah, I normally am on your side, but I had to chime in.

And I'm not saying how big my tool is, so there!

More explanation is needed I see? This is getting annoying now.
1. I know the [censored] difference, drop it.
2. The typical consumer does NOT know the difference, drop it.
3. I am speaking purely in terms of the typical consumer, drop it.
4. The term "re-skin" is COMMONLY misused to described a FAMILIAR model being RE-modeled into something less recognizable (League of Legends "champions" are PERFECT examples of this), DROP IT.

It's not that hard to understand what I'm saying, guys... If you knew what the hell I meant, why are we still friggin' arguing this? This is ridiculous, infuriating and RIDICULOUS (yes, times TWO with caps). Can we PLEASE move on from this topic?

To go back to the OP, I agree that most of this stuff was crap except for the greeneye and beanie. I still didn't mind throwing them 4 bucks though.
A full out DOOM marine suit would have been killer IMO.

Yeah but then we'd see nothing but Doom Marines and no originality.
