This topic was touched on in the fashion thread, but anyway...

For me, I like the look of security for representing myself as a character, but I find the resistance areas much more immersive within the context of the story. The maps like container city really represent the game world more than the sterile security maps (even if the architecture is cool from an engineering point of view).

Naw, I, and many others, are just far too obsessed with the game.

I read all official information I can, listen too any information I find, pay attention to the players who have played at the expos, and fill in the gaps between the best I can. Its just a matter of collecting and recalling information, and connecting the dots.

If you are really obsessed with the game, you have already played it. :P

Personally I can't tell yet. I haven't seen too much of the ARK, but I don't like the look of Container City too much.

I too like the Security clothes and stuff, but also the Resistance-style maps. So far, anyway. The Resistance side of the Ark just looks more used, more lived in, more alive, than the other side. More so than the airport, anyway. Besides, I've always liked those sort of cramped, kinda messy looking places.

Also seem to fit the urban sport of parkour more than the new-age architecture of the ark.

That really depends on the kind of new-age architecture. If it's all round and smooth, it strikes against, but if it's edged, it is quite handy for Parkour.

The towers and start of the reactor level all seem to be very smooth and curved walls, but the inside of the reactor is very industrial, with lots of catwalks and pipes, if I remember correctly, let me go find the video.

if you are on security do you like uber sleek maps and if your on resistance do you like the uber urbanish-worn look.

Generally speaking, they are. But as the Ark is not made to hold 50.000 people, they have most likely expanded the space of the original Ark.

yes, but its still the Ark. Its the name of the city, you expand outward its still apart of the city, i mean its a Huge floating mass at sea and its all connected (physically speaking). Yeah theres 2 unique sides, but its all the Ark, and thats what the confrontation is about, control of the Ark and its resources.

The question in the OP is about art-styles more than anything. Do you like maps that have the sleek and smooth security look like the airport; or the worn, busy, and colorful maps like container city?

Although, I have a feeling the question may be a mute point, as the devs have stated that the maps are all pretty unique looking, with each map clearly being its own entity. So, the maps most likely arent going to be "one or the other"
