It's been over two years since I cancelled my WoW account and have played in the realm of single-player only. In all this time though, I still think WoW has the best camera control. Everything about how the mouse works in relation to controlling the camera is just perfect. I wish the game industry would just standardize on that and move on. I love Skyrim as well as a few other great single player RPGs I've played in the last two years. But all of them suffer from poor camera implementation. I know just the mere mention of WoW is enough to make some go ballistic - but I think any rational person would agree the camera controls in WoW are a beautiful thing.
Yeah, they fit WoW perfectly. I don't see how they'd be any better than the vanilla Skyrim camera, though.
Skyrim isn't too bad. But one thing I miss is not being able to pivot the camera around my character as I run... that really let's you get a great understanding of whatever area you are passing through.

I agree completely. WoW's third person camera controls via mouse buttons/movement was the best I've ever used. And I agree Beth and every other game maker should standardize to that- would make it all so simple.

I've got you, now.
I'm not sure how the PC controls work, but it is possible with a PS3 or XBOX360 controller to a degree. Takes a bit of thumbstick maneuvering, but it's possible.
