Performance question.

Hey there all I've finally decided to bite the bullet and lay down some cash for New Vegas but I want to be sure I can run it first. I'm almost positive that my laptop (which is currently my only comp) can run it as it seems to handle Fo3 well. Trying to save you a dx diag so heres a summary. I have an MSI Gx630 series laptop. Windows vista 32 bit. 4.00 gb ram. Nvidia geforce 9600mgt video card. AMD Athlon X2 Dual Core ql-62 2.00 ghz. Sooo how well do you think I'll run New Vegas?

Depends what you are aiming for.

If your ok running it with lower settings, you should be good. (Probably same as or close to F3s.)

My concern is the CPU at 2.0Ghz. I OC'd mine recently by 1Ghz and it netted me 15+ FPS overall. Just goes to show it's heavily CPU dependent.

But if F3 works, FNV should, if not at a little less detail. (Maybe not, I'm guessing.)

I've got an Intel C2D 4600+ 2,4 Ghz and a 9600 GT, 4Gig ram and 64bit Win7.
FONV runs quite good mostly even at higher detail levels (though I tuned down the visible range for some stuff).

You'll probably be able to play it at 720p around 30fps with a mixture of high and ultra settings. It will look better and run better than either of the console versions.

I ran FO3 on my wife's Macbook with an integrated 320m which isn't as good as your card and that's the performance I got. I had no AA, 16xAF, DoF on, transparency AA off, shadows and water on low, and the LOD between their high and ultra counterparts.
