No Perks

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 3:38 am

Has anyone tried playing the game by taking no perks? I have been thinking of doing a play though like this just to see if indeed it is any harder. I did something similar in FNV where I played with 1 luck, it was safe to say I didn't do well at Blackjack. If any one has done this then say if it was fun or not worth doing.

My opinion would be that it would NOT be worth it. If you leveled and just saved all your perks, you will quickly get outclassed and killed. If you're thinking about playing a permanent level 1 character, that's fun for a little while. If it's something you wanna try out, go for it and see if you like it

well its pretty funny to play like that its a real challenge just never open the perk menu and you will stay at level one,it requires a lot of run/ healing in almost everyfight so hope you like running.
Pretty amazing i tried it but i cant explain how it feels its just.. different. So just one thing to say try it and see by yourself!
Enjoy

I am currently trying to play a pure rogue and using only the thief perks. Course there are no weapon perks in the thief skills (other than sneak bonuses) and the game is getting increasingly difficult. I am trying to compensate for the lack of damage with sneak attacks and poisons, but I will generally end up in melee anyway ... and that just doesn't end well.

I'm going to keep trying, but I have a feeling this character will be a fail as it is impossible to avoid combat completely and play a real rogue, especially at low levels. Maybe after 20 or so more perks it will be doable.

I can't image playing with no perks at all. Your skills just do not level enough as the skills increase. The perks are all but required.

No I have not, nor would I really want to. I'm not that hard-up for a challenge. But I don't make it a habit of telling people what to do with their games.

If I were to do this, I would level up but just use no perks. terrible stamina and health would ruin any combat situation.

What? Everyone should challenge themselves to see how much boredom one can endure?

Part of the community has a full time life and a schedule >.< (being older svcks!) I get to play on average maybe 3-4 hours a day if I'm lucky >.< I don't think I'll ever get really bored of Skyrim.

I've played 2 characters without ever using smithing, and alchemy. I only used the armour and weapons I found. I used perks, but I had no trouble and could/can beat anything without a problem. I'll probably later try those out. The only things I worked on leveling was destruction, one hand weapons, archery, light armour and locksmith. And speach a little. Thats it.

That's what I'm thinking of doing, otherwise one hit and you're dead.
