Pets!

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 4:36 am

Hey, wouldn't it be awesome if we could have pets (besides a dog)? I think it'd be great if there was some sort of shop in Skyrim that sold some. What I really want is actually an imp, like the ones in Oblivion. I think that'd be awesome to have for a Mage character, a little imp that shoots fire bolts or something.

Any Ideas on a pet you'd like? Something Bethesda could put on the game?

Snow fox. I want one that follows me everywhere at all times.

It'd be completely useless, but they're cute, so whatever.

Yes that is true, it has been confirmed by Todd Howard so it must be. I personally wouldn't mind a pet like a fox or wolf for a hunting buddy but i'd probly get them killed, im never to good with followers and horses :P

The spider died and animal thralls only last a few seconds. As for people like the guy above me said they aren't pets.

no not really. what would be cool is if i could be a Jarl, build up a city and make a army to invade or defend land and have to manage resources. Having a dumb animal following me around is not cool. Being a Jarl and having a ton more gameplay features is cool.

They are kind of. Is a chimpanzee a pet ? Humans are basically chimpanzees (some very slight differences). And the housecarls in Skyrim live the life of a chimp in a zoo, unless they're following you.

Hey, also I was thinking they'd replace followers. They would be strong and could have basic commands like Stay, Follow, and attack. and when I think of pets I think of creatures.

These would just be a gameplay option. Im sure not everyone likes Npc followers, I myself am an animal person and would like this.

Also, about the armored troll, I know the dawnguards will have them in some form, but does that mean being able to use them as a follower? Even so, I'd feel weird having a big ol' troll for a pet :/

Meh, followers just seem to get in my way and dogs are worse. That being said: I will use armored trolls (call that as my band name) because if a vampire can summon a gargoyle (mispelled?) I want something to get that while I focus on the vampire.

Pretty sure their is a bigger difference than slight. Also they only stay in your house to guard your stuff. It would be like considering the yarls guards as his pets.

Not really. I think our DNA is like 96% identical or something like that.

never said we don't share 96% dna I said their is a bigger difference. It is like saying a house cat is like a lion. Sure their both cats but their are major difference in appearance, behavior, intelligence, behavior, size, muscle structure, etc.. The 4% makes a large difference.

But there isn't really huge differences in the behaviours of humans and chimps. At our most primitive we're really similar. We have the same emotions and to non-primates we probably look very similar. I suppose we'll just need to agree to disagree.

That doesn't really mean a lot. We share 99% of our genes with mice, 70% with sea sponges 50% with bananas. Just because we share DNA does not mean we are inherently similar.

I still think humans are pretty similar to chimps and other great apes.
