PGA Pros - Is there a difference?

Club pros, Teaching Pros, Touring Pros, etc....is there a difference?

I mean do teaching pros play in tourneys? Have they passed Q school?

What about club pros?

I know that touring pros have passed Q school but not sure about the others.

I'm getting back into golf after a 12 year absence and I'm geeking out on all things golf. I love it....bought a new set of clubs, taking lessons and spending a lot of time on the range.

My strength still hasn't come back yet but it's getting there.

I believe Q school is only for anyone wanting to qualify for the PGA. I could be wrong though.

Ah my favorite sport! Club pro's and teaching pro's are kind of the same thing. Usually the club pro teaches as well, but they can be separate jobs. Both of them go through the same school though I think, I am not 100% sure on that but 75% sure. I have a cousin who's on his way to becoming a club pro and he had to go to school (not Q school) for it. Teaching and Club pro's can or have played in tourney's..maybe not professional tourneys but state tourney's I'm sure. I'm not entirely sure but for them to become a PGA professional I think they have to go through Q school, even with the other schooling..because the Q school is all about qualifying to get into the pro's in the first place and unless either of the two were there before hand, they probably don't play in any professional tournaments.

So what set did you buy? When I got my job a couple years back, I bought myself a new set too. Nike Slingshot's, 4-PW with an AW as well, graphite shafts. I both like and dislike the graphite shafts, I lose power but they feel a bit better and less heavy. Got Taylormade Burner 3W and 5W and a Nike driver though I can't remember which..I'd have to go to my bag and look.

I play in my dad's league they have, I do pretty okay. Usually place 4-6th place out of 30 or so guys. I need some professional training and I think I could be making some nice scores. Right now my average is around the 42 area for 9 holes and I'm way less consistent on 18s with my average being more towards 88/89. I'm shooting a lot better than I ever have though.
