Pickpocketting Daedric

Post » Thu May 31, 2012 11:23 pm

hey all! hope somebody can help me with this curiosity. i have a low level assassin/thief and i was hoping not to invest any perks on smithing at all but am very interested in daedric weapons specifically the dagger, sword and bow/arrow. Is there any way of pickpocketting them off someone? is it even possible? if yes, who and where are they so i may pay them a visit. XD

Daedric weaponry starts appearing in the randomly generated loot around level 46.

Possibly not. I don't have the numbers to hand, but it's impossible to pickpocket anything worth more than 2,500 gold. People don't tend to "miss" someone pick pocketting the crown jewels right off their head ;)

They both spawn but its totally random. You could play to 50 and never find the piece you want.

It's only 5 perks so if you really want it and want to use it earlier in the game just smith it.

Ebony is pretty good and it wil start showing up a lot on vendors and in chests around 30 so that's a nice option if you don't want to smith.

Look up the Atronach forge under the College. It allows you to make Daedric weapons and armor. No smithing required.

Level 65 here and having done almost every quest in the game and explored everything except a few smaller places... I have found 3 pieces of the dragonscale/plate armor and 2 daedric weapons and one daedric shield.
So it seems these type items are very rare.

As has been mentioned, if Daedric weapons are important to you, sinking 5 points in Smithing for it is your best option. You'll get them far earlier that way, and they'll be much better than the base versions you can get from the random loot generator anyway.

If you don't have 5 perk points to spare, consider spending only 2 for Elven. At 100 Smithing and fully improved, Elven weapons offer very competitive damage output.

Master-level Conjuration IS required, as you need high enough Conjuration to be able to get and complete the Master Conjuration Ritual quest. About half of the Forge's recipes come from the "Sigil Stone" you get from this quest. It's a boon to those trying to ignore Smithing and using Conjuration instead.

My highest lvl character began seeing daedric bows on vendors around 52ish. No drops from chests or anything yet.

My second highest character found a daedric bow and waraxe at lvl 40

Atronach forge is bugged to. I tried to make a daedric set with it and found it impossible to make equippable daedric boots. The bug has been noted in the wiki, but I don't know if something like that will ever be fixed anytime soon.
