Pillars of light, outside college of Winterhold?

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 5:42 pm

Been trekking around with my new character and I've noticed only one of the pillars of blue light are activated, on the approach to the college. You know, the ones Faralda lights as you make your way across the bridge. Only the bottom of the three is illuminated, I know this totally isn't a big deal but it's kind of annoying me. Either have 'em all off or have 'em all on I say.

Is there a way to turn them on or off? Even with console commands?

Had the same thing happen to me on the 360. I had been carful to let her light them all after one character bumped into her while she was lighting the first one. This seemed to put her off and she didn't light any of the others, leaving me with none lit..

I just did as I thought it would help but unfortunately you only cleanse the three large ones in the central courtyard and the two living quarters.

She turns them on? Never notice. I jsut run past her and into the college then when I come back thru, they are all on.

Yeah, she casts magelight on them and they activate. Though casting magelight on them myself has proven ineffective.

Don't get too excited. It's the equivalent of cleaning out the fish tank.

Doing this has a special and unique side effect that can be very exciting and useful for a low level magic user.

I have to say this is one of the very few posts in this entire site that made me literally laugh out loud. I think I even snorted.

Because it's funny!
Sorry I mean that in a totally good-natured way, it just struck me as so real, like some older guy going around before bed grumbling at his wife of 50 years to stop leaving the lights on or something. It cracked me up.
