Pip Boy hand glove has disappeared

Post » Wed Mar 09, 2011 1:56 am

Hello everyone!!!!

i searched the forum but no luck with my problem ; no info found about it.

So, my problem started after i went in REPCONN and took the space suit from the basemant. I put it on and noticed that my pip boy left hand glove is not showing anymore :( doesn't matter what i am wearing&stuff...it's gone ; the only info i found on the internet about this problem is here http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Space_suit and on the bug list : "If you put on the space suit, it will permanently remove your Pip-boy Glove. "

does anyone has/had this problem? is there a way to make the glove reappear ?

I have not seen this problem. I have worn the spacesuit several times and my pipboy shows in third person whether the suit is on on not.

Have you tried dropping and reacquiring the suit? What happens after a reload?

Okay, I hadn't yet gotten around to creating my FONV album—but you forced my hand. I can't picture what you are talking about.

Here are two pics of my character
http://www.pbase.com/ewaldorph/image/130673669/large.jpg You will note that the glove is the Space Suit glove.

http://www.pbase.com/ewaldorph/image/130673667/large.jpg The glove is now back to my regular wornout glove.

Am I misunderstanding what you are talking about? What is this knob you mentioned?

If you wan to see the larger images you can go directly to the album at http://www.pbase.com/ewaldorph/fonv

first of all, thanks for yr reply :)

look at this picture www.pbase.com/ewaldorph/image/130675867

look @ the left hand of yr character. i am talking about that glove. see it? is the default glove the player has, no matter what he is wearing or if he's naked :) that glove stays on always(stayed on mine too, till i put the damn space suit on). this problem didn't appear in fallout 3 and i tried almost, i think, all the outfits available.

Now I think we may be getting somewhere. Gloves come with the outfit. Not all outfits have gloves (most do not.) None of the vault jumpsuits have gloves. In the picture you referenced, my character is wearing a suit of Remnant Enclave Power Armor. The gloves are specific to that suit.

I have taken several more shots of different outfits but it's late and I can't post them until tomorrow (Sun.)

Meantime check through your collection and try on different outfits. I'm sure you will quickly see what I am talking about.

You're still missing the point. The Pipboy itself has a specific glove, and that glove has a control knob on the back of it.

Under normal circumstances, that glove replaces the glove from any given outfit. After wearing the space suit, you keep the Pip-boy, but lose the glove.

Story of my life: Mr. Short Term Memory.

When i started looking at the outfits (and taking a bunch of screenies—DUH!) I had, of course, already worn the Space Suit. I may be thick-headed but I can still admit in public when I've been a dufus (have a lot of practice  )

Thanks to both of you for persevering :trophy:

I did a search of the http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1141352-bug-list/ and didn't find it. Perhaps you'd like to post there, raulv. I find that it has already been entered on the Wiki page for the http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Space_Suit#Bugs (I should have looked there first)

well, thank u all for yr answers. i'll see what i'll do about it and let u know how will turn out. by the way, i founded earlier on a forum another posible solution, that, maybe, obtaining the pimpboy 3 bilion could solve the problem, by ...reseting the way how the whole pipboy components look, when u equip yr character with it(i understand that u can switch, if u want, to the clasic pip
boy anytime)

Thank you BladeFireLight!

The fix works perfectly. Raulv: If you are unfamiliar with mod fixes just copy whichever language version of the .esp file you want to use (Either English or French) into the FONV /Data folder (in your Steam directory) and restart the game. Don't forget to check the mod in the Data Files section of the launcher.

i solved the problem using ~Player.AddItem 25B83 1
~Player.EquipItem 25B83 1

(JustinOther, u rock :) )

i tried also the Space Suit Pipboy Glove fix, which is working too, but in this case everytime after u launch the game and enter in it u must equip the space suit and then unequip it in order for the glove to appear.

i have to add that in both cases there are some..minor(maybe some people will not notice them :) ) glitches in the way how some parts of the pipboy unit are displayed...but that's Fallout New Vegas, the game.

i want to thank u all for support!!!!!! HUGS!!!!

I am sorry that Obsidian/Bethesda didn't payed more attention to the technical aspect of NV. As we all know, the game has more&many bugs than Fallout 3. I have to consider myself among the fortunate players, because as i read on this forum and the internet, all kind of strange problems encounter many people(i also have in mind that in some cases the problem is on their PC's).

The only PROBLEM with the game is the CTD which is specific also to Fallout 3 ; CTD which i prevent by exiting and rentering the game after ~ 60-90 minutes of gameplay ; if i'll play more, i'll get the classic&well known Fallout CTD (it's caused by the memory leak problem that this game have ; i think u could have 12GB of RAM, and u'll get the same result:) ). Other problems like missing textures or NPC stucked and covered in the ground, some locations which have rendering problems, are not annoying :)

I like very much this kind of games ; i fell in love with Oblivion when i played it and couldn't wait to get my hands on fallout 3 & nv , but i am disappointed because of this major issues an i am very surprised that the very talented guys from Bethesda let that happen. :|
