I've played 200 hours, and my new Orc is my favorit Roleplay

Why should you deliberately have the to restrict yourself to deal with the lack of balance and fill in the blanks story-wise? Isn't this the developer's job - ya know - to actually create the content rather than the player having to make it up?
I'm looking forward to Witcher 2 on Xbox, a game where actions have real in-game consequences.

Nobody is deliberately doing anything, least not to "balance" the game in any way.

Some people just like to play this way, they have fun with it. Myself and others actually like to role-play (to varying degrees) in our Role-Playing Games (RPGs). Not everyone wants to have their hand held and be given a story and that's it, some like to come up with their own and make it part of the game.

In my opinion, this has long been part of the charm of The Elder Scrolls series and very much part of the reason why I, and many others, play the game and love it.
