Player editing.

Sorry to bother, but I've been at this for the better part of the evening. I'm liking New Vegas, but I somewhat miss FO3's generosity with the skill points when you level up and not have to worry too much about gimping myself. I'm not a big fan of highly specialized dudes, so I'm trying to make a mod to change the player's int derived bonus from .5 to 1 with iLevelUpSkillPointsInterval, but I don't know where to stick this to make it work. Looked through the forum, looked through the wiki, but it's somewhat vague regarding how to apply general changes to the player character itself.

The end result of what I want to end up is a character mod that can solo on hardcoe while having a bit of a throwback to FO3 for nostalgia's sake, want a bit of a fine balance between a casual experience while still being a bit of a challenge so it feels 'legit', but isn't broken either. Any insight or pointing me out to resources to figure this out would be appreciated.

I don't quite get it. If you change a global, that will affect everyone, including the player.

Aw, man. I found that iLevelUpSkillPointsInterval thing in gameplay>settings, but it doesn't matter what I change it to, I'm still getting int x .5 every time I make my dude levels regardless of what value I set the thing to. Default was 2 so I'm not sure what to make of it, maybe I'm doing something wrong.

That thing you mentioned about the globals, how would I go about forcing the game to give me a skill point per int on level up then?

Argh, I meant gamesettings. It's a gamesetting.

You could just add a perk at game start that alters skill points gained at level up.

No sweat, but, that's a good idea, it could totally work, like a bit of souped up educated perk, thanks man, I'll give it a go.

It works, feels a little less organic in progression than I'd like, but the end result is the same so I'm pretty stoked. Thanks man, I really appreciate the help.
