Ive Been having trouble playing the Caravan tutorial, I can pick the deck and place a bet fine but the moment ive selected the three caravan cards all that i can do is discard cards from my deck and i have only been able to play Kings and jokers is there some trick to playing the other cards?

Use the arrow keys on your keyboard.
Left and right to chose a card to play.. then W
left and right to chose caravan.. default position is for playing a face card on your first card. Press down and you can play it as the next card.

learn your face cards to be cut throat... You can play cards on your opponents cards too;)
If the hand above were your opponents cards you could play a jack on his king

I've got the same prob., can't play caravan... Can't place any 2-10 after the first one of each caravan...

OK just press down once, problem is that you can't play your cards behind the first one.... And that you see the whole card so you thought it was above...
