It's not going to happen. You're the courier. You can be young or old. But you can't be that young.

If you buy it for the PC you can most likely use a console command or get a mod that allows you to, but you won't be able to play as one in the game without some kind of trickery.

Plus, you being a kid would mean that you could die. As a kid. And that's bad. Just ask the mods.

you should probably read about the intro to the game before you say this. but i mean i guess if they had a flash back mission or something, then it would be ok. but other than that, read the intro..

You mean playing as a kid in a flashback? Sure, I guess.

I wouldn't really consider one mission to be "playing as a kid".

As far as I know, you, the courier, have been shot in the head. Twice. And left in the desert to die. You were rescued by a robot named Victor. Being shot in the head (twice) you have no memory of who you are or what you were carrying. Only that someone wanted what you had bad enough to kill for it.

If this is anything like previous Bethesda games (I know, it's an Obsidion game) your character will have nearly no back story. Leaving you to "start from scratch" as it were. It is unlikely that there will be any flashbacks or any real way to find out who you were before being shot in the head.

I may be wrong. You may not be suffering from amnesia. But I don't expect to learn much of anything about the Courier's back story either way.

My point is that I doubt there will be flashbacks. And without flashbacks I don't think that there is any real chance of playing as a kid.

Well it couldn't happen since if you got killed as a kid and we the death animation rolls it will be serious for other players which falls into the category of child killing.

If this was a JRPG, then yeah (you got people as young as 8 years old participating in war and adventuring), but American gaming companies are very sensitive when it comes to kids doing anything in videogames. :(

No. I don't see the point other than in flashbacks, and I'd rather they left out any references to the character's backstory, giving us a blank slate like Oblivion, so we can build our character as we wish.

It just wouldn't seem right. I mean, having an eight year old killing everything with a minigun? Not okay.

Plus, the whole thing on killing children in games....more trouble than it's worth.

They're probably only going to let the slider go back as far a 18 or 19. Come on, who in their right mind would let a child character shoot up with morphine and slaughter people. It would be awesome, but mothers would flip a [censored].

Already had to delete a post from this thread, and reviewing the last few... a borderline topic, going nowhere. So... *click*
