Playing as planned?

Post » Fri Jun 01, 2012 10:16 pm

Before i bought skyrim, i had planned to play it like i do most rpgs, warrior build, get good armour, nice shiney pointy sword then wade into enemies stabbing as i go, BUT instead ive gone down the route of, for want of a better description, a medievil sniper. Instead of levelling up my one handed and two handed stats ive gone for the sneak and archery ones, so now instead of going "RAAAARRRGGHH!" *STOMP STOMP STOMP* *Stabbitystabbitystabbity* "AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!" im more "shhhh" *sneakysneakysneaky* *TWAAAANNNNG!* *WOOOSH* *THUD!* "aaarrgh my knee!" "hehehehehe" *sneakysneakysneaky*.
Has anyone else found they are not playin how they planned to?

Planned on using alchemy, hated the alchemy system.
Planned on using light armor, but all the light armors I like the look of are pre-enchanted so they're worthless. (first thing I do with the CS is adjust this)

Other than that, mostly to plan.

Started playing according to plan, mostly. Gave my first character some points in Magicka, which she ended up never using (first spell she ever cast was a Ward spell because the instructor guy at Winterhold asked her to), so once she finished the MQ I rerolled, basically playing the same class, but everything I wasted in Magicka is in Health and Stamina now.

A Breton who completely eschews spellcasting. Imagine that. Actually, with stats gone, she's just as good a Huntress as anyone else might be. Better perhaps, because casters give her less grief.

I figured I'd do what I did in Oblivion--sword and light armor--but wound up going 2H and heavy. Just because I was attracted by the higher ratings without thinking about their costs. Duh.
