Playing\testing a(s) a pure mage on PS3

My experience so far (lvl 15) is that it requires a lot of multitasking, and without hotkeys that takes some time on the PS3 controller..

As a pure mage I have to have some flesh spells up and running, okay, lets press up, scroll down to Stoneflesh, scroll up to firebolt, scroll to lesser ward, blah blah.

Anyone else feels the same as me? Would be cool if we console users could save hotkeys, lets say arrow up + R2/L2 would be a macro etc etc.

Makes me want to make a warrior, protect with shield, bash bash, hack with sword. Less stressful

Yes. I would much rather have the hotkeys back from oblivion than the favorites menu. I don't need to switch more than 8 times with any of my characters.

Believe it or not, I almost never use hotkeys. In Fallout, the farthest I went was binding Stimpaks to Right Arrow. I'm fine with the Favorites Menu, but I support the idea of hotkeys.

Playing a mage is supposed to be harder in most games but I do agree that they could have been better off with the hotkey system they used on ps3 for oblivion (every direction on the d-pad was a hotkey) though it still might cause some issues with dual wielding hotkeys... Not sure how those would have worked but they could have allowed us to simply create weapon sets and set them to hotkeys...

That's what I was thinking. Instead of hotkeying individual items you could assign a set (left and right hand) to each button.
