Playing as Thalmor Secret Double Agent

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 2:13 am

Questions before the long explanation- has anyone used the console to complete Diplomatic Immunity? Just wondering if that works so she won't have to go in and kill other Thalmor, and just pretend she got info from her Thalmor handler. I think that is the only one I could possibly do with console as I have to physically retrieve Esbern from Riften.

I wonder if I could use the console to moveto Esbern, talk to him then use console to move to another npc and then fast travel and Esbern will come with?

Is there a mod that allows you to play as Thalmor type?

'People should know when they are conquered'. At least that is what she thinks. So the plan is to aid the Stormcloaks, just as General Tullius says at the end (actually just killed him), the rebellion weakens the Empire and aids the Dominion. Also, one benefit of the Stormcloaks winning is that now the Dominion can enter Skyrim and not break the White-Gold Concordant, so for whatever reason they signed it, they can continue to observe it in other areas.

So I think she will do the Main Quest - using the console some as above, then at the end, she'll continue to use Esbern and Delphine for info, then kill Parthunaax, then use the console to make Esbern and Delphine mortal and kill them and all the Greybeards. She will also kill Ulfric Stormcloak at one point. All of these things would be good for the Thalmor....

She may become head of the Mage's Guild too eventually, but can't decide on that.

Hmm. Too bad Elenwen seems not to post much any more - s/he'd likely have more answers for you. I've never used the console to manipulate quest lines like that, so I guess I'd have to say the way to find out is have LOTS of saves and just try it.

AFAIK, at this point there's not a mod in place to play as Thalmor. I'm without my "real" machine right now, though, so haven't looked over the new mods the last few days.

Interesting premise, in any case. Good luck to you, and let us know how it goes!

I wasn't aware you HAD to kill the Thalmor in the embassy, I figured you just have to be super sneaky and dress in Thalmor robes. Is that not the case?

I've only done it once, and none of my toons EVER does stealthy stuff, so for me, yeah - it was pretty much kill on sight. Maybe a thought for Avarae though!

I was able to get into the solarium in hooded Thalmor robes as an Altmer. Then you have to sneak so they don't see you. Eventually, though, you'll have to confront the soldiers holding Malborn- AFAIK there's no way around that- but you can get away without killing any justiciar.

I've not done that quest on any Illusionists, but theoretically, couldn't you just cast a high level Calm/Pacify on them and just escape that way? Or maybe a Fear spell.

You can always invest in Ilusion and avoid conflict with any npc if you like.

well she is pretty good at illusion, i guess i could calm them and pickpocket the trap door key. i think i will first try using then console to setstage past the quest and see what happens. when i get to that point i will post how it went. if that don't work i can always try illusion.

as a last resort she may just do the quest normally and not worry to much about anyone she kills as she is from a different faction than Elenwen. so she would have a different lord or handler within the dominion, part of a group that is for a more aggressive stance in Skyrim

Possibly- you'd have to pickpocket the key from them. IIRC the key for the trap door is on the guard.

I hate to burst your bubbles but I'm certain that Elenwen observed you while you were about to get executed and didn't do anything to stop it so.....

Assuming your Altmer with the hooded thalmor robes, gloves and boots on, the guards outside of Elenwen's Solar won't be hostile. You can talk to the other guards.

If your a thalmor agent you skip the civil war.

Actually that's pretty easy to get around from a RP standpoint if Elenwen wasn't informed about it. as for killing the guards when one considers the value of having a spy that close to the groups opposed to them i doubt they would really care what you do to the regional group as it would only make it easier for the stormcloaks/legion and blades to trust you.

I totaly agree with Levothroxian here. Does the thalmor in Skyrim really know you're a spy if you are a secret one?^^
And yeah, whats a few dead bodies of your own people when its for the best for the Dominion!!

Btw: I like your idea of playing as a Thalmor agent it would be awsome if they made maby a add-on or DLC that allowed you to play the civil war quest like that. =)

A mod to play as a Thalmor would be pretty awesome.

Update so far: right after I left Kynesgrove and Delphine I used 'setstage MQ201 150' and got the update that I knew what the Thalmor knew, and I needed to talk to Delphine then find Esbern, so that worked well enough for me. First I tried stage 155 the last one and it didn't work at all. with stage 150 Delphine was still in Whiterun which is where I was when entered the console, but I let her travel back to Riverwood.

Then I went to Riften and manually tracked down Esbern. Oddly, the first encounter you have with the Thalmor on the way down to him did not occur. So I found him, and then with the rationalization that I could have used Calm on the Thalmor and told Esbern to just follow me out if the game let you give complex commands to followers but I couldn't. So used the console to move to Lydia's position and lo and behold Esbern came with, so we then went to Riverwood and did Alduin's Wall normally.

I didn't know you could wear Thalmor robes and not have to fight the first set of guards, and could have used illusion and pickpocket the rest of the way, but I am not a big fan of this quest esp after doing it 20 times. skipping it worked out well for me.

Now I got fascinated by the idea of making a female Nord Axe and Board tank so I started doing that and haven't done anymore with my Altmer.

Well, as to the post about the Elenwen and the Thalmor staying out of the Civil War, Elenwen doesn't know about my double secret agent, and mine is the agent of a Lord somewhere in the Thalmor upper echelon. And as for the Civil War, my superiors are from the faction that believes a Stormcloak victory would be beneficial, provided Ulric and Galmar are assassinated shortly afterwards, and the Thalmor invade Skyrim immediately after while the province is still weak.

With 100 Illusion I think my mage will wear the Thalmor garb and sneakily cast frenzy. I'll save it for their casters. That's like having your cake and eating it, too.

Well , the thalmor have more tolerance for High elves than any other race.
If you wear the thalmor outfit while being a High Elf , they won't do as much dmg as you get when you're an Orc for example.

Okay, finally got back to this character. Not a lot of in game options for this roleplay. She has done the MQ, killed Parthuanax. I finally got her to look the way I like so I am having a lot fun just doing stuff that isn't 'Thalmor' related, strictly. I can't seem to get the quest 'return to Esbern' so i can get the dragon fighting potion, after which point I will kill Esbern and Delphine. I guess I could kill the Greybeards anytime now, maybe next after playing with the Ebony blade a bit.

Eventually, after she prepares the way for the Thalmor invasion of Skyrim, she will start devestating Stormcloak forts and generally killing Nords and creating chaos, but that will be the end of playing normally and doing any quests.

Afterall, Akatosh has foresaken the Nords because of their clear desire to put Talos over the other divines, which will eventually demote them to 'saint' status. Akatosh bestows the gift of Dragonblood, and thus the Nords will be taught a lesson by a Dragonborn Altmer Thalmor.
