A plea to Bethesda

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 11:28 pm

Dear Bethesda,

Please let Obsidian keep making the Fallout games based on the West Coast. You can continue to make great Fallout games in the Capital Wasteland (and the rest of the eastern seaboard), the Northeast, the South, the North and South Midwest, and the entire rest of the world.

Let Feargus Urquhart, Chris Avellone, and J.E. Sawyer continue to craft and progress the story of the setting they helped create.

Can't wait for Fallout 4 (And Elder Scrolls 5 of course)

Agreed 100%

But...I want Beth to come up with new factions...no more Enclave and BOS on the East Coast. Also, Obsidian should handle the South Midwest.

I don't even want to see another Fallout for a while. I'd rather see a new IP.

By south midwest I don't mean southwest, I mean like kansas, oklahoma, texas, etc.

There's not really any currently existing Fallout 1/2/NV storylines that use those areas.

But I don't see why they would want to make a game in Kansas or Oklahoma (no offense if you live there :P )

Have to agree with this. At least to a point.... I don't want to see another made like these two "new school" ones for a while (an almost completely different design would be another thing - with another Fallout or a new IP).

Kansas would be boring as balls. I know cus I lived out there for 6 months. The western half is flater then a pancake, and the eastern half, though having more hills, theres not much. The best I can see coming from a Kansas based game would be some Point Lookout style landscape. Unless they include a lot of zombies. Then that would be totally worth it.

Bethesda isn't making any of those games, they are just the publisher, like they published NV. They probably have even less input into the games like RAGE and Brink since they aren't directly involved with those IP's.

Officially Bethesda isn't working on anything right now and hasn't been since Fallout 3, but I think we all know they have been working on the next Elder Scrolls since then.

Bethesda Softworks is publishing all the games on this forum. Bethesda Game Studios is working on an unannounced project.

From what Ive heard, it is nearing completion. Todd said that they were more then ready to show it if given the OK, and the time between announcement and release will be the shortest they have ever had.

What information?

I agree, I'd prefer that Bethesda doesn't lay a finger on the west coast. I'd also prefer it if they kept the things that make New Vegas a great RPG, and don't ruin it.

The next Fallout should be based in Camden New Jersey. Oh wait, I don't need a game to see the RL fallout....

I apologize to any Camden residents. Please don't shoot me.
