Please Add Better Item Descriptions in New Vegas

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 3:05 pm

Also, specify if a weapon falls under 'Small Guns', 'Energy', 'Big Guns', etc. in the item description. I know many of them (or think I do) but some can be a little confusing. Having it stated in the description will eliminate any confusion. Thanks.

Small Guns and Big Guns have been merge to a single "guns" skill.

Anything that uses gun-powder filled cartridges and shoots copper-plated lead is a firearm or "Guns" by Fallout New Vegas's new skill, Easy way to figure what class of weapon your using. :tops:

But to be on topic I always wished there was some better item descriptions and things of that sort I'm the kind who likes to read and examine every little thing I have in my inventory. Don't think it'll be released in this Fallout game, but maybe the next? (But I'm sure someone will make a mod for it) :)

I always though they drop the ball on this!..maybe they could add a little humor like Bioshock did.It would really work with the"Vault Boy" mascot...now that I think about it,Obsidian hasn't changed anything about the interface . :cryvaultboy:

They haven't changed anything, as far as you know. Just to mention: Companion wheel, probably a faction rep meter.. Just from what I've seen and would guess. so don't be so quick to judge.

I'd love being given DAM per shot, spread and magazine capacity, myself.

What is even worse for me is I only attack in VATS exclusively, since I want to see what my character can do based on his stats rather than what I can do based on my twitch skills. So the Full Auto doesn't even factor into my attacks!

You're missing half the game doing that.

Can the game engine even handle item descriptions?

Short of applying a script to every single item that references a note with all this info in it.

Yeah, supports it just fine. Just put text in the icon --> bam, description.

It's simple, and very necessary. I'd love to be able to know the fire rate and accuracy of the weapons.
