It's amazing, the nicer I try to be to people on the internet, the ruder and nastier they seem to be in return.
Was there really any need to be so rude? Did you really need to call a stranger on the internet who you know nothing about naive or ignorant, simply because they have an oppinion that's different to yours? really?

Did it make you feel good about yourself and fill your day with inner peace and tranquility? If so, I'm glad
If not... Well .. That's sad that you have to insult people you dont know if you dont even get any pleasure from it.

Big hugs. Try to calm down a little, yeah?

He's not being hostile at all.

I love Skyrim, but it's an objective fact that the writing is godawfull.

What he's pointing out is that many people's arguement in favor of said writing is on the same level of putting your fingers in your ears, closing your eyes and saying LALALALA I'M NOT LISTENING LALALA.

You and what's his name calling him a "Child" is trolling.

Here's love for the young'ns.

Pulling: Engage NPCs on your terms. Choose the battlefield of your advantage and use ranged to pull the NPC to you.

Kiting: NPC's have certain paths they follow - 'pathing'. You can exploit it. Some may call it a cheat. Whatevs. Jumping on obstacles (ie rocks/coffins/ledges) or across them will cause NPCs pathing to change. You can find the sweet spot where you can bounce a NPC between a couple/few points and keep him out of melee to wear them down with ranged.

Breaking Camp: Say you have a camp of two giants and three mammoths. They will path around the camp in certain routes. Wait until that route takes them out of the agrro radius of the other NPCs. Pull. Kite. Rinse. Repeat. Camp is broke. Cheese is yours. Plus two toes and some coin.

Gravity Kills: Exploit it. I've sprinted then shield bashed archers off ledges. Shouted bandits off bridges. Have used Frostbite and IceBolt to trip/slip NPCs off ramps.

Combos: A good icebolt spell will give you a second off paralysis where you can shield bash NPCs off anything of height. Shield bash, power attack, shout is a good opener. Potions of slow and paralysis will help with kiting trolls early game. Poison an arrow with frost/cold aversion then use a Blizzard Scroll. Frenzy or fury pots + a bow = good laughs.

Scrolls: Scrolls have been my get out of jail free card. They have always come to have utility.

Strategy: Use choke points to funnel multiple enemies. Use area effect and lay ruins in them. Kite enemies. Position yourself in doorways so they can't flank you. Make sure you have fall back points. Use pressure plates to pull enemies across the trap. There's oil lamps and other flamables, use em.

When did I say the combat is childish? I'm referring to the dialogue and storyline for main quest and side quests. Without the blood and gore elements in the game, if you only look at the storyline, this game's easily rated 8years+ because you don't need a brain to follow the simplistic storyline.
Um, neither Oblivion nor Morrowind's MQ story line would have gathered them their fanbase alone. The side quests, the storylines, the lore, are the story-related stuff which attracted players. That's why TIL has always been so popular on the forums. Bland story lines don't get people who so intensely dialogue their experiences in the game like a story or even discuss/debate stories within.

If you've ever followed discussions on the Skyrim civil war, which I've seen several locked due to making post limit, it's not as simple as you make it out to be. I would agree if you were more logical in your assertions like saying perhaps it left something to be desired but you're basically saying the entire game is childish and bland because of the MQ story line's simplicity. I'd suggest playing another game if all you do is play 1% of the game and ignore the other 99% of it, making conclusions based on your own wilful ignorance. Certainly that's not going to bring any enjoyment in a single Elder Scrolls game.
