Please help with graphics issues

So I was excited for Brink blah blah, my buddy got it first and said he went to a friends to play it and it looked god awful, he was ready to put it up on ebay to sell it. The tv his friends had was like a 40" Vizio, maybe bigger he says. Wasn't sure what they were running it on but it was bad. Took it home to his 3 year old 50" and said it looked great, nothing like at the other people's house. So I get it from gamefly today, and it looks baaaad. Talking to him now and describing it, he says it's exactly like what was happening the very first time. He suggested changing my Black Correction or Black Levels, but I've tried that and it doesn't change anything. Really bad textures and nothing looks smooth at all, environments, characters, even my own weapons etc. I did download the patch when I first put it in, it was about 3 MB, very small I thought it was going to be a little bigger. Anybody have any suggestions on how to remedy this? Like I said, my friend has a bigger tv than i do, and it's not at nice by any means and it looks better. I've yet to see exactly how his looks to compare but I'm sure he's right about it. Really want to play as the gameplay is fun but I can't look at this. It's like ps2/xbox graphics for me.

I'm aware this is a game problem however it looks fine on my buddy's tv. Not picture perfect, but way better than mine.

His tv is a Panasonic I believe? It supports 1080i. I believe he's only running it on 720p with his HD Component cables I'd have to ask him later on today. I was initially running this using my HD components with my xbox set to 720p, but my tv is 1080p so I hooked my xbox up with an HDMI cord, set it to 1080p and it didn't make things much better. Textures still don't render well, take less time now that I installed it to my HDD. Environments are not smooth, edges are jagged, viewing things at distance and everything looks like a blur. When I look down to the ground the floor detail is pixelated. Normally to see that I'd have to walk up to a wall and zoom in on it.

I hear you, and I can say I'm seeing exactly what you do. Low resolution textures, aliasing, and lots of texture pop-ins.

I'm playing in 1080p on a 42" LG tv via HDMI (slim Xbox with the game installed to the hard drive).
