Please help with ripple effect getting stuck in screen

Post » Mon May 28, 2012 5:04 pm

Hello

I don't know if this is the right place or not but anyway

I'm new to the forum but not new to Skyrim been playing it non-stop for quite some time now and with everthing my character has been through including glitches/bugs i've managed to find work-arounds them except for this one right here, the ripple effects of falling water gets stuck in my screen even after i left the dungeon/area. to be more specific in "Fort Sungard Oubliette"

My Game is the PC version on steam
Here is a screenshot:

I've tried everthing i can think off, saved and reloaded, saved then restarted skyrim and even verified integrity of game cache. the only option is for me to revert to a previous save but then if i go to Fort Sungard Oubliett again the same thing happens.

Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance

You omitted the greatest majority of system information that is required to perform diagnostics on a PC, unless you are in the wrong forum:

Basic Hardware Specification Chart (Empty so far)

Processor Manufacturer: AMD / Intel
Processor Name / Type: Athlon X2 / Pentium D / C2D / dual core / quad, etc.
Processor Speed: ?.? Ghz
Operating System / Service Pack: WindowsXP with SP #?, Win7, Vista ?
System RAM: ? ? GBs (MBs, if less than 1024 ? )
Video (GPU) Manufacturer: ATI / Nvidia (only those two are supported, PERIOD, so please answer which of them you have)
Video Card Model: (examples) Radeon HD 6670 / Geforce GTS 450
Video Card Driver Version: Catalyst ?.? / Nforce ??.??
. . (please use the numbers, and dates, *not* the word "latest")
Video display's default screen resolution
Video Card onboard RAM: ? ? ? MBs
Sound Card Manufacturer:
Sound Card Driver IDs:
Sound Card Model:

(And this is only for the raw hardware & driver variations. Potential software conflicts are far more likely to be game play problems, and developers cannot test for all possible program loads.)

I don't quite understand your post(rather tired 3am in the morning so please bare with me)

You want me to supply those informations?
And do i really have to? aside from the ripple effect being stuck there is nothing really wrong with my game in terms of graphics, i have all settings to Medium(by defauly detected by the game) and texture at High, i was wondering if this is a gltch/bug of some sort and if their is a possible solution for it or maybe i am in the wrong forum(again please bare with me)

Are you really suggesting that the CPU, system ram or sound card have anything at all to do with a decal getting stuck on the user interface? Brow beating hardware isn't the solution to everything and I'm leaning on its got nothing at all to do with this particular situation.

OP: Are you running any mods that play around with the UI's decals like say the HD blood one? I remember in that mod's discussions that there's ways to edit how long decals will stick to the UI and your answer might be found by looking at how that mod does its thing.

well if it helps in terms of gameplay it runs fine in my machine.

Nope, no mods. this is odd because i tried going in "Embershard Mine" went to the waterfall roamed around left the mine and everthing was fine but again returning to Fort Sungard Oubliett then leaving the ripples stay lol

I can just completely ignore that area but that i'd rather try find a way to fix the problem.

Also my my Graphic hardrive is updated, again other than the ripples getting stuck everything is working fine.

Oh yah it stuck to me when I walked out of that cave entrance at the bottom of it. Fast Travelling to somewhere with a much different climate (for me it was to the blue palace in Solitude as my first try) unstuck it though.

That's game world maker user fail, not much you can do about that. I find those mostly in way off the beaten path type places like high up along mountain range's spines and things, but yah that's a bethesda world editor who forgot to assign something to that surface that's all.

Firstly Thanks for tyring it in your game, and thanks for also confirming that "its not only me" hehe
Did what you did, fast traveled to the western watch tower and it also fixed itself!
Ah thank you! you just saved me alot of time and effort! much appreciated.

i never tested fast travelling since i never fast travelled before since i prefered riding a slight oversight in my part heh

again good to know others have it too, i tend to pay too much attention to such things.

Well with that issue fixed, i can rest easy and look forward to continueing my game!

Thanks again and a good day to you ^_^
